I think folklore is gray bc most of the album cover is gray and for ttpd I think it’s white even though the anthology is more gray, the original before we new it was a double album was more white.

okay so to settle this debate i swirled the colors of folklore together and then separately swirled the colors of ttpd (non-anthology) on ibis paint.here are my findings: Folklore is exactly the color #808080 whereas The Tortured Poets Department is exactly the color #AAA39F, which would indicate an ever so slight lighter tone present overall in the Tortured Poets Department. However, there are many other factors to consider, such as the numerous variations of The Tortured Poets Department, and also The Anthology, the latter of which's album cover's average color is exactly #393430 Thus, the original The Tortured Poets Department and The Anthology's colors averaged together are #807F7E, which is VERY SLIGHTLY darker than the color of Folklore. But also, I feel that it is important to look at the colors of what Taylor has worn in relation to each of these albums. The Tortured Poets Department, in that respect, seems to generally be white-dominant, with black accents (such as her Grammys dress, the TTPD lyrics dress on the eras tour, etc). Yet this is not an equal one to one comparison to the outfits of folklore, with which we've seen numerous different colors (the iconic flower dress, the many variations of the folklore dress on the Eras tour, and the general idea of foliage and greenery to give off a woodsy effect). Looking into the color white, white is the PRESENCE of all colors, whereas gray is closer to black, or the ABSENCE of all colors. Yet there are also many different colors within gray--think of blue-grays, yellow-grays, etc. so either one could thus represent a vast array of a color palette. But, since by definition, white is the presence of all colors, would that theoretically lead to the conclusion that Folklore is white and The Tortured Poets Department is gray? And back to the sorts of outfits worn during The Tortured Poets Department set on the Eras Tour, the amount of white present would suggest that the album is predominantly white. The TTPD bed prop, the dancers outfits' being all white, the white lyrics dress, the white stage visuals, and more, would suggest this. And, in addition, since it's been released, us Swifties have always viewed Folklore as being assuredly gray, up until the release of The Tortured Poets Department. Although I believe both albums fit well into having gray as their predominant color, I believe that the overall average color scheme with which Taylor is choosing to portray The Tortured Poets Department in is much lighter and closer to white than what Folklore is. So there's my lengthy, overly formal, and slightly convoluted color analysis of the two albums, if anyone cares to read it. It took me a bit to type up. I love how it just slowly gets more grammatically accurate/formal/high vocabulary as I continued typing it, it's as if I settled into essay-writing mode, like I was typing up a paper for school or something, lol. So enjoy! This is my two cents and take away from it what you will 🙂 |

So sorry, I didn't think through that the braceletbook system would try to read the hexcode values as pattern numbers! Since they're slashed through, here they are for easier reading:Folklore is 808080 TTPD (not anthology) is AAA39F Anthology is 393430 TTPD (not anthology) + anthology average is 807F7E ibis paint became my best friend to do this lol |
