Hey! My name's Mary, I'm from Russia. Not that long ago I saw one of my friends creating a frienship bracelet. For me it seemed very hard to understand how did he figured out how to make all this knots and creating a pattern with them. So one day he said that I can take a piece that he made and finish it by my own. But, I was too scared to try it all by myself, so I finished it up just by tying knots in the arrow pattern (the simplest one). So when he saw that, he got very upset that I finished it like that. So, to not make him upset again, I've started to learn and made my first braclet, that I later gave to that friend. Now, it is very easy for me and creating friendship bracelets is one of my favourite hobbies! Soon I will even do a master-class at my school for those who would like to learn how to use patterns. And that friend of mine later became my crush, I confessed to him, but still didn't get the answer :^ But that is a different story So that's how my braceletbook story started! What about you? |

I started making macrame bracelets a long time ago with my sisters. Years after that my twin and I were gifted supplies to make string bracelets like kits with instructions for simple bracelets like a candy stripe or a chevron. I started watching a lot of tutorials after that on how to make more complex patterns like a braided leaf or a tiny heart. Then I learned to read normal patterns and made more bracelets by reading the actual pattern on a different website instead of rewatching a video over and over again just to finish a bracelet. Over the summer I learned to make alphas and decided to make an account after discovering this website over the summer as well.

I got a friendship bracelet making kit for Christmas and didn't open it until spring because it looked pretty dauntingOnce I got started with the candy stripe and chevron, I was unstoppable. The kit taught me how to read patterns to make a design and so I realized I could find patterns like that online. I wound up on the other bracelets site but it didn't have the patterns I was looking for. Once I started making alphas, I felt like a could make just about anything, but I felt like I had surpassed what that site had to offer. I remembered bb when I was looking for patterns randomly and now here we are!! This community got me out of a slump this summer, and the challenges I've participated in have helped me strengthen my skills as a bracelet maker 💖💖 |

honestly, my friend just started making them and wanted to teach me... i kept putting it off because it looked so hard but I finally let her teach me and now I'm obsessed!! I do it whenever I have free time (which isn't much with school 😭) Now, I know how to make alphas and normals and can't wait to make more patterns in the future!! 😄

i got a friendship bracelet kit for my birthday in 2019 and i made a few chevrons, heart bracelets, and name bracelets and was obsessed. about a month-ish later, i got a Masha Knots video recommended to me on Youtube, got more addicted to the activity, and discovered Braceletbook through her videos. i never actually created an account until July last year when i got out of a slump, so i would have my to-dos open on different tabs on my phone 😂 . it didn't go very well and i eventually had way too many tabs open that my phone crashed and closed all the tabs 😭but yeah, Braceletbook is amazing and i love the site and community so much 😄 (maybe a bit too much that i'm on here practically every minute of my day...) |

I was looking for a way to make some money by doing something artsy, and I came across friendship bracelets on Sarah Maker. Then I discovered Masha Knots, and then also BB.

my aunt taught me how to make a chevron when I was 5. then a bunch of years later i asked for embroidery floss for my birthday and i kinda forgot about it. then i decided to make a chevron and i started watching craftanatic (highly recommend!). my foundational knotting skills were kind of learnt all over the place, but eventually i figured everything out by watching a lot of masha knots. i used braceletbook a lot without making an account for looking at patterns, and then i finally made an account : )

My friend had recently gotten in knotting and had started to be on and using BraceletBook 24/7. I was confused as to what all the hype was about, and I was a bit lonely since she was spending soo much time on BB. Eventually, I just decide to join and see what got her so attached. Then I made a chevron and well...it was very bad 😅, but I knotted a bit more after that and the rest is history

I remember a year ago I was already into making beaded bracelets and the craft string happen to be in the same isle at stores plus saw nice photos of them on ig and thinking “I should learn how to make them.” I always liked how colourful they were. I decided to watch multiple videos of them on YouTube and then once I got the hang of making chevrons and candy stripes I learned how to read normal patterns. I then remember bracelet book kept popping up every time I searched up friendship bracelets so I decided “why not?!” so I downloaded it, and happy I discovered it because it makes making bracelets much more convenient and seeing a group of people also interested.

I got a bunch of string from a close family friend. And so I was browsing the internet for what to do with it all other then embroider or cross stitch. And I found this and got hooked 😂 now I can’t stop and am ever so grateful that I found this hobby! I think before the thread I had tried a candy stripe but it didn’t go well and so I gave up. And once I started I learned that one of my friends did it and she helped me a little bit.

I recently joined because I am very sick and I need something to do because I can't go outside. I was scrolling on pinterest and saw a pattern and thought it looked cool.

I’m pretty sure when I was 7 I started making simple ones like Chinese staircase and then quit until I was 12 or 13 and then started watching a YouTube channel called island bracelets and she mentioned braceletbook and I was interested. I didn’t create an account either because I was too young

Some lady taught me back in 2021 over summer break how to make a chevron. After that I basically forgot about it all until like mid-2023. I made a few more bracelets and then found Masha Knots on YouTube and learned stuff from her. Eventually I just decided to learn how to read patterns so that I didn't have to watch full tutorials for every single one.

@_vuroee i hope you feel better! I recently got sick and it was pretty terrible so i hope it’s improving. Bracelets are definitely a good passive hobby for being sick tho
