I want some more people to talk about books with! I love to read but I cannot seem to find people who read the same stuff I do since I read a little bit of everything and enjoy some weird and niche books!

Some of my favorite books:

Blood Meridian, Cormac Mccarthy
American Psycho, Bret Easton Ellis (I am crazy, ik)
The Love Hypothesis, Ali Hazelwood
The Count of Monte Cristo, Alexandre Dumas (probs all time fave)
Frankenstein, Mary Shelley
The Martian, Andy Weir
The Time Machine, H.G. Wells
A Deal with the Elf King, Elise Kova

My reading genres are also: Thriller, Horror, Extreme Horror, Classics (modern day Classics sometimes... but only a few), Fantasy, Sci-fi, occasionally a romance, even a little YA.

I look forward to meeting some reading buddies and hopefully some reading friends! (bonus points if we share some favorite books) ❤️

Julia_2009 do you want some short recommendations? I keep my goal at 52 because it keeps me consistently reading but i still have time to focus on college and other personal things too. i am at like 48 this year but last year I finished with 75 books!

@Julia_2009

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson- a quick and fun classic. An easy one if you are looking to get into classics

All Systems Red, Martha Wells- a really enjoyable scifi that has a little more if you read between the lines. first in a series

The Time Machine, H. G. Wells- my favorite classic. A really easy read that holds up well, even if it is 150 years old

Crave, Tracy Wolf- Longer book but it read super quickly. first in a series and theres vampires, so bonus points

A Good Girls Guide to Murder, Holly Jackson- first in a series that reads really quick. its also YA since that seems to be your fav genre

Hope these help or that you like them!

I am constantly listening to audiobooks. I devoured the Crave series @emooemuu mentioned. I wish there were more books! Another series that has a similar theme is "A Court of Thorns and Roses". My friend liked it as much or more than Crave but I think I would have liked it more if I read it before the Crave series, it made me just want more of the Crave series.

@UVPickle ACOTAR was okay. I just read so much fantasy that I felt like the world was meh. Characters were also meh. And also, ACOTAR and Mass's work in general should not be marketed as YA. It is way too adult. Even marketing it as New Adult would suit it better. I wish I would have liked the first book more because I would have kept reading the series. It is very popular though!

@emooemuu I agree, the story and characters didn't do as much for me and no way should it be YA! I listened to the audio books but I didn't finish the series and I don't really want to listen to that over other things on my list.
