i am OBSESSED with stationery. i am a calligrapher and i bullet journal and when i see a brush pen, i jump. when i see any pen, i jump. actually, when i see highlighters, i jump. when i see washi tape, i jump.heck, when i see a RULER i jump. just last week i was over at a friend's house. they're an AMAZING artist and out on their desk i saw Kokuyo campus paper, some of the BEST paper. i havent gotten the chance to buy any yet (haha hopefully i will soon!) but ive heard AMAZING things about it and i see it E V E R Y W H E R E so i didnt hesitate to just, as soon as i got into their room, point at the paper and go "OMG KOKUYO CAMPUS PAPER AAAA THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF" my mom is already asking me what i want for christmas (she loves to plan ahead) and so i just go like listing off stationery and stuff. im like "yea so im gonna need just a huge thing of black ink that i can use for my normal fountain pen (for context i also have calligraphy fountain pens) cause cartridges are wayyyy inefficient like bro it came with a converter so why not use it. I NEED SAKURA FINELINERS. IDK WHY I DONT HAVE THEM YET. oh and like 3 more dotted journals." im also the kind of person who has an overstuffed pencil case. like, the pencil case is already on the large side. how is it full? im honestly not sure. a normal person wouldn't need 99% of the stuff in there. but, yknow, gotta have all my brush markers along, all my mildlliners along bc mildliners, naturally my black, gold, and silver sparkly gel pens, and then my silver and gold non-sparkly gel pens, and then my multi pen, like 6 pencils, that old crusty purple gel pen from 7th grade that somehow still has a touch of ink, a sharpie, that random almost-out-of-ink uniball fineliner that my friend gave to me after finding it on the floor, a couple mechanical pencils floating around, waiting for someone to donate lead to me, etc. all of this means that im the person who you can always hear obnoxiously searching through their pencil case when we're taking notes. ๐ sorry for the long rant. i could go on- OH YEA WASHI TAPE ok so i dont have a ton of washi tape, but i do have an assorted silver tinted pack and some like graph/grid washi tapes in varying colors (both are from michaels!) i absolutely LOVE using washi tape and i need more. (:< oh and dont even get me started on the MaRkErS i need better quality ones tho cause my old ones are like 4 years old, all fraying tips, drying up, etc. OH AND MORE ON MY BRUSH MARKERS - I ALSO HAVE SOME METALLIC ONES AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH โค๏ธ โค๏ธ โค๏ธ i also have these cool outline markers where you just write with them and the middle turns silver and the outside a different color--they're cool, the one problem with the ones I have at least (and i assume many of the others are like this as well) is that they bleed through even the THICKEST paper. so if you're fine with bleedthrough, that's cool, but it's rly annoying if it's in like a sketchbook or smth (i dont really have any sketchbooks bc i suck at art, but i do have like calligraphy sketchbooks ig?) oh and also BONUS: I absolutely ADORE the prismacolor colored pencils I got for a secret santa many years ago! AMAZING blending. you dont need to buy a large pack bc these can become ANY color. I made a completely shaded (although poorly, and also disproportionate) portrait of taylor swift purely with these colored pencils. i need watercolors tho cause i can use them in my bullet journal and it would be the most AMAZING thing- also stationery related youtubers i like include AmandaRachLee (an AMAZING bullet journal youtuber) JetPens (they're actually a store that sells the stationery they show in their videos, and this is how i learn about a lot of new products) Carrie Walker (journaling in general) |
