wasn’t sure if there was already a topic about this so i decided to start one! here’s some small traditions that my family does that i can remember right now: first day of school - homemade flatbread pizzas! also first day - picture w our backpacks/ computers(covid) in front of a very specific tree with a nature background! (we moved… :\ now it’s a tree in front of a street…) every friday during the summer - takeout and a movie! some saying we have: (some might take some explaining so bear with me…) “D-U-N, DONE!” - my aunt when she was young said this to my grandparents and it’s just kinda stick with us all these years! “it’s just a t-shirt quilt!” - my grandmother was helping me and my mother make t-shirt quilts out of our old shirts and whenever she would quilt something or mess something up she’d say that, it was actually kinda funny! i feel like there’s more but it’s been a long day so byeee!! |

some of our sayings are: 1. “otch!” - when i was little my cousin accidentally hurt me and i wrote him a letter saying how he hurt me and i drew a picture of him accidentally hitting me and a little speech bubble saying “otch!” instead of “ouch!”. 2. “you are your frickin bright ideas!” my grandma got mad and my grandpa and said this in her country accent. 3. “home squad ready?” it was a song that said “whole squad ready” and my mom thought it said “home squad”. so whenever we get ready to leave the house we say that. 4. “mind your own bix-wax!” my hispanic grandma can’t say “beeswax” so she says “bix-wax”.

For sayings, there are SO MANY (a lot of them are movie quotes and weird phrases I came up with over the years)As far as traditions, on Halloween we always have mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in Pillsbury croissant dough) and boxed Mac and cheese. Birthdays my dad always takes me and my siblings out for breakfast (the kid on their birthday yeah?) And the birthday kid picks what they want for dinner (whether that's takeout or a homemade dish) and their choice of dessert (same as dinner) I think that's it lol |

Some sayings:"That's a win!" Or "winnin?" When it looks like somebody's struggling "I be dead" "I'm a fessional" (professional, courtesy of the neighbor girl) "HELLO. My name is Inigo Montoya" "I bedot" (sister's word for forgot) And there is way more but my brain is slightly dead atm |

My family calls the small broken pieces at the bottom of a chip bag "schnibbles". We pretty much call any little leftover crumbs/broken pieces of food "schnibbles" 😄 |

@KrazyKnotz cute! my grandmother always eats the little crumbs in the bottom of a chip bag so we’ve joked multiple times on how we should save “12 months of crumbs” for her for christmas!

For traditions, we always take first/last day of school pictures on our porch. For birthdays we get to pick dinner and dessert (home cooked or eating out). We also have movie nights where we watch a show, make smoothies, and pop our own popcorn and usually we butter it, it's AMAZING. For sayings, my sisters and I say "Saoslay?" Which means "seriously," we got it from one of my sister's classmates. |

When we find something so weird we say "WAAAA" in a special way. My grandmother's mother used to say this. When someone says it's too cold we say "now wind is coming from the window and getting its way to his/ her stomach from under his/ her clothes". It's more sarcastic because my dad's family is too sensitive about cold |

My grandma says “a ree a ree a runka” in this weird singy way and used to bouncy the kids on her leg and sing that so now whenever we see someone bounce a kid on their leg we start saying that. Another thing is we eat a spoon full of peanut butter when we get the hiccups, idk why but it works every single time.
