The most traumatic anime for me was basically the saddest movie I’ve ever seen, which is Grave of the Fireflies… I still get sad just thinking about it. Definitely don’t recommend that one for kids lol.As for series, my sister always brings up Clannad (or is it Klannad?) but yeah, I didn’t even have to watch that one to agree with her. Just having her describe the plot was enough |

okay okay if ur looking for a really good anime movie watch Perfect Blue, it’s super psych- horror -thriller-ey so be warned and it can be violent but it’s so worth it imo.

another good and v traumatizing anime is banana fish. def one of my favs it’s abt an american teen mafia boss who meets a japanese teen photographer and the two of them get close and yeah i’m not gonna say much more but u will cry and it is arguably a BL-ish vibe (the manga is also so good)

I don't watch much anime anymore but I distinctly remember Elfen Lied being really messed up. I think the Duffer brothers said in an interview that it inspired some of Stranger Things season 1.

YES ELFEN LIED TOO it was very good but um yeah pretty messed up in some parts but i’m rly into the whole psych thriller scene
