I'm gonna have to say orchestra because it's way easier to get a job in a symphony orchestra as a string player because they need way more of them then wind and brass. If you just wanna have fun and you vibe with band instruments, then go for band. If you think you might want to have a career in music then I would go with string instruments. Also I took lessons with a jazz violinist for years and I also play jazz violin and viola so strings have just as much versatility as winds and brass.

orchestra. i used to be in choir and every year my middle school did this holiday concert thing, and my choir class got to sing in it. it was a combination of band, choir, orchestra, and piano lab. we were on risers and the band was to our left. i was at the edge of those risers. the trumpets were all right there. when it came to the part where we all play/sing the same holiday song medley together at the end, i believe that i was not singing. i believe that i was, in fact, screaming. i could not hear the orchestra. i could not hear myself. i could only hear trumpets. my eardrums were never the same. but i didnt like choir anymore so i switched to orchestra, the less eardrum blasting version of band 👍 im friends with a lot of band kids though, so i dont have anything against band, it's just personally not for me |

Band!!! I am a band kid and it is so fun. Orchestra is cool tho too but band has both winds and percussion that adds extra excitement. Orchestra is sometimes boring. I love them both too. I have too many friends in an orchestra to completely put it down
