@PuPotato I am so happy for you. We all have different strengths and mine is definitely not bracelet making. I try and try but nothing I make ever looks good. I devote all my spare hours into bracelet making to no avail. I wish I could make perfect bracelets all the time like you, but I guess I was just born to fail. At least that's what my parents and almost every teacher has told me throughout my life. I cry about it every night, but what's life without some struggle! Each failed bracelet makes me feel just a little worse about myself. I am aware that this is troubling, but don't worry because I'm going to therapy for it. I have therapy sessions five days a week, and my parents are forced to pay for it since I spend all my spare money on bracelet materials. The last bracelet I tried to make was in memorial of my dog, Tom, but instead of looking like Tom, it looked more like roadkill that someone thrown up on. At least that's what my mom said when I showed her. She was probably mad at me since all of our money goes into my therapy sessions which is why we couldn't afford Tom's surgery. Bracelet making is my only escape. Except that I resent my life more each time I make a bracelet because I can never do anything right. But that's so great for you! 😄

@Laureel ...please seek some help. I did not mean my comment to come off as offensive, merely to reassure you that you should not give up. I look forward to seeing your profession of bracelet talent and I hope it can continue to be an escape for you. Again, I meant no offense by my comment and I hope you are able to work through your issues in a happy and safe environment. Please consider leaving home and getting monetary assistance from the government for the therapy as you switch it to 6 days per week, which might be more effective. It seems like your home environment may not be the best. On a side note, I would love to see an image of the tribute to your dog, as I am sure it is a great memorial of Tom (rip). Please message me if I can help in any way, again I am very sorry my comment hurt you. 🙈 🙈 😢

@Laureel I'm so sorry to read all this. It's so sad that your dog died, but please don't blame yourself for it. You don't seem to be doing well and therapy can really help with that. I hope that you will soon feel better!

Please don't believe what your parents and teachers tell you. You are not born to fail! Nobody is born to fail. Nobody should ever tell you such things!

How long have you been making bracelets? It's normal that they are not perfect from the start. Over time you'll get better at them. Even if you have been making them for a while, there is still space to improve.

Maybe you could post photos of your bracelets here on braceletbook. There are so many lovely people on here who are happy to give feedback on how you can improve your bracelets. And I'm sure, your bracelets don't look half as bad as you think! Your mother seems like a mean person from how you described her, so if I was you, I wouldn't believe everything she said.

@PuPotato thank you for your concern, it means a lot. I am already seeking help, that's what the therapy is. I don't think my environment is the problem here, I think I just need to try harder. I have looked into getting financial assistance from the government and moving out from my parents, but then I couldn't afford therapy sessions and bracelet making. My therapist actually recommends I have sessions 8 times a week (twice on Wednesdays), but we have already had to make significant cutbacks with only 5 sessions per week. My parents are forcing me to stay in therapy because of my "very low and extremely concerning self-esteem" according to my therapist. I don't believe I have "low self-esteem" because I think I am just inherently worse at most things than other people. This is just my lot in life. But your support means the world to me and I will not stop trying! Your bracelets have inspired me because they are the most perfect ones that I have every seen. My parents would finally be proud of me if I can make I bracelet that is a fraction of how good yours are.
