Anyone ever done a Hair wrap without having to cut it off?

Has anyone here ever successfully removed a hair wrap that’s been tied Chinese staircase/forward knots style? I’d like to give myself one but I’m not willing to cut my hair off afterward. I can untie knots just fine but after being washed a few times over a week or how ever long, is it still pliable? Let me know your experience please!

When I’ve done it in the past most of it just slid off and I only had to undo like the first few knots I made. I would recommend making it on the looser side though so then it’s easier to get out. I’m pretty sure it would still be able to come out after being washed. Don’t know why it wouldn’t. Ya…

Thanks @o-0I’ll tie it loose. Not sure when I’ll have time to actually do it but I’ll come back to this post so anybody interested can see how it goes. |

update- so i did the hair wrap 2 days ago and i took it out tonight. i showered only twice with it (i only took it out bc i’m getting my hair dyed tomorrow). i actually took the wrap out while my hair was wet and it was surprisingly very easy. took abt 8-10 minutes and i just slid it off untying only the last knot

Thanks for all the replies! I did two hair wraps recently and I was able to work them off by untying and slipping them off my hair. They’re fun!

I have never heard of a hair wrap but it sounds really cool! Think I will try one over the summer.

yes! i usually overlap the top twists over themselves and don’t necessarily knot it on my hair.

yes, i start off with a loop and i just do whatever i want it to look like. After i tie a knot and i cut it. I just take a small section of hair and i put the loop through it. It's hard to explain but it's easy
