Thoughts for Tots, a teen-led organization, is asking for friendship bracelets for children in the Denver Hospice for Valentine's Day. I am not affiliated with Thoughts for Tots, but I donated bracelets the last two years and want to encourage others to! I think this is a great idea, do I have to mail the bracelets out in a bubble mailer or would regular envolopes be fine?

@2006_Mandy It probably depends how many you mail and if they're able to lay flat in the envelope without folding. I've sent single bracelets in regular envelopes before only because it was small and flat. For this, I've always used a bubble mailer because I send multiple and that many bracelets become thick. I believe standard letter envelopes can't be thicker than 1/4".

so the hospital is for kids meaning like 2-14 ish...? i'm wondering about sizes, i think last time i did some small and some normal sized, should i just do that again? what are you doing?

@TKEStrong3 I know nothing about this but I’ve don’t stuff like this before for other places and I would assume that beads would probably be a no because of a chocking hazard or something but not really sure. And for sizes I would say ya. Or you could also try making them adjustable so it’s more likely to fit someone.

@x_x yeah, i wondered about the beads being a choking hazard. Adjustable bracelets are good idea, I'll try to remember to do some like that! Thanks!

@TKEStrong3 regarding sizing, that's what I've done. I usually make the ties really long though so it can fit most wrists. I assume that parents might get some too!

@TKEStrong3 Also, I looked at photos the Instagram account posted from years past and there are several beaded bracelets! The other user had a good point though, so do whatever you feel comfortable with 😊

I am almost halfway done with one, I'll try to remember to make some ahead of time next year- i didn't realize the deadline was so soon! But i think i can make some with beads pretty quick.

the mail wont be open on Sunday (the 5th), So is it okay to send them on Monday (the 6th)? the package would be postmarked ON the 6th, so it seems like that would be okay...?
