ok so there’s this guy who i really like. i’d say we’ve gotten pretty close this school year. i think he might like me back but idrk. we always playfully make fun of each other, he comes and talks to me in the halls sometimes. but i’m not sure bc he’s not the kinda guy to tell you how he feels he’s always joking and being sarcastic. well one of my best friends likes him too. (im not gonna act on it bc of this) i really want to tell her i like him but i feel like she’ll be upset. she’s a great person and i don’t want to drift from her. (i’m worried bc she did this to a friend before. but they’re ok now) i was planning on telling her when we go back to school monday from thanksgiving break like this “i like him a lot but ik you like him so i’ll make sure nothing happens” and “i told bri (our other friend) over a month ago and i’ve liked him way longer than that but yk i have anxiety about telling people stuff like this. and ik you’ve liked him longer than from when you told us by how you acted before” but as it’s getting closer i’m chickening out. so i’d like ANY advice please! 💕

Does he hang out with your best friend the way he does with you? And do you know if she has an opinion on how he jokes around with you?I'd say since you're getting ahead of the issue by telling her that you're not gonna act on your feelings then she shouldn't be angry. So don't be afraid! You're showing that you value your friendship more than the possibility of something happening with this guy, and since you mentioned that you don't actually know whether he likes you or not then your friendship would be a bit more at risk in that case, or if she maybe found out from someone else that you did like him. You can also have your other friend Bri be there with you when you decide to tell her so she can vouch for you or just make it a lot less awkward. Good luck I hope it works out well 😊 |

@Zaan_13 tysm for answering me! i’ll go ahead and answer your questions. no not really. she never really says anything about how he jokes with me so i’m not sure. the reason i was gonna tell her i wasn’t gonna act on it was bc someone similar happened before with her and another friend and they ended up dating (they still are and she’s fine now but was upset at first) but the more i think abt it it seems like a bad idea ngl. a lot of people have been asking me lately if we like each other…and pretty much my entire basketball team thinks i like him (they don’t know i actually do). so idrk what that’s all about. but again thank you for your help! 🤍

it’s so great that u value your friend! honestly tho you need to just tell her. she will probably be more hurt if she finds out from bri or your basketball team. if you tell her, that shows that you trust her

@sage-wolf yea i totally trust her she’s not that kinda person it’s just i already have REALLY bad anxiety when i talk about some things and the circumstances aren’t making it any better. ik i should tell her it’s just i don’t think i can make myself tell her…

I agree with @sage-wolf! I think having her hear it from someone else might be risky, especially now you mentioned that sooo many people are asking about you and the guy. But I understand that it's a really nerve-wracking thing to do so if you do want Bri to tell her make sure she 100% clarifies to the friend that you asked her to bring it up in your honour. I hope whatever plan you choose goes well though, give us an update if anything happens ❤️

I know how you feel tbh kinda in same situation and i think i have a little bit of social anxiety around people i never really talk to, because when me and my friends were playing with this rubber ball i brought in, it bounced to far and a boy who was a year older than us caught it and took it inside for himself but for the whole day I was too scared to tell him that it was mine. @sage-wolf well what i was a afraid of happened BUT my friend wasn’t mad at all! she said “i’m not mad it’s not like we’re dating or anything” so i’m so glad everyone finally knows so i can be honest abt my feelings! tysm for y’all’s help!! 🤍🤍

@sage-wolf and btw the thing i was afraid was, was someone slipping and they did. now i just need to find out if he’s being nice or giving “hints” but that might be awhile bc he’s suspended rn (but it wasn’t even that bad i would’ve done the same thing)

Yeah, I am fine around people I know or am in the same class as me as well as the kids younger than me. It is just people older than me that I dont talk to. 😭 😐 🙁And well done! 👍 🙂 |
