I thought that if you jumped off of something high, an umbrella would work just the same as a parachute. And I tried it once when I was really young and hurt myself but no one was looking 😭

@Hassey that's actually very common. Last year I had a class on developmental psychology. I don't remember it exactly, but basically how kids imagine the earth goes through different stages. They start out imagining it as flat because that is what they can see and then they incorporate more and more about what they learn into this imagination. This imagination becomes more and more complex and accurate and finally ends with the earth as a ball. |

idk why but when i was very young i firmly believed that if someone was touching me, they could read my mind asdkl;fj;sdlkjf but i never knew why i had trouble reading other peoples' minds until i asked my older sister if it was true, and she just laughed and said no and told everyone else what i had just asked her. for a little while i thought she was trying to cover up her mind-reading powers but eventually i realized she was just telling the truth lol

I thought that George Washington was a hockey player and that when you are in the basement, turn off the light super fast and RUN as fast your legs can take you because the monsters are chasing after you (I still do) 😍

Once a relative was having lunch at my house and told probably like 5 y/o me that if you ate bread with thick crust your ankles would stick together, I actually believed that for years.Probably around the time the first one happened, I had a small stuffed dog (it's name was "my puppy" 😂) and I left it out on the counter while my dad was making dinner once and he said if I didn't put it away he was going to put it into our dinner. That terrified me for a very long time, I never brought "my puppy" near the kitchen until I found out that my dad actually just wanted me to put it away. One of my brothers thought that there were people inside of the tv, so he didn't like when you pushed the same button more then once because he thought you were rushing the people inside the tv. In addition to that, he thought that of you lost something it was because it walked away like what the toys do in Toy Story. Also I thought everyone loved Veggie Tales, but that's just an unsocialized home schooled kid for you. |
