this week i spent almost an entire school day having my laptop fixed in the IT department, during which i became best friends with one of the ladies that works there. she mentioned that she enjoys DIY projects so i am going to bring her a few skeins and instructions for a pattern. this feels like a mission of sorts lmao

When I was an inpatient at an eating disorders recovery center, I taught a class to other patients on how to make bracelets. The class was really popular!

I'm actually extremely shy and have social anxiety, but teaching the class really gave me confidence and even made my love of making bracelets grow even more! 😁

i've heard from quite a few people on here that they picked up the hobby after someone taught them the ropes and then they eventually discovered the internet's huge library of patterns - i was taught myself on a summer camp. it's a little easier to get into when you've already learned how to do the basic knots (+ bonus fun if it brings back good memories of when you learned ☀️)

i am now determined to get as many of my friends addicted as possible 😄

i actually sort of did the same thing @KrazyKnotz !!!! i was inpatient for ages in a psych hospital and we did a lot of art therapy. so one day i decided to take my string to art group and work on a bracelet rather than doing the normal activities, and a couple of the other girls asked what i was doing and i taught them ☺️ word got around and some other girls were interested and eventually we started a little bracelet club in the common room after therapy! even a couple of the nurses made some candy stripes with us 🙂

i also taught my two best friends and they didn’t mind it, one of them was actually amazing at it she’d never done it before and her bracelets looked literally perfect 😭 but they both have other art projects they prefer
