Hi guys! I make and sell bracelets as a side job. I had someone ask me today to make a guitar strap for them amd not quite sure how the embroidery thread would hold? He will get back to me about size and pattern. Has anyone used embroidery thread(the tread to make the bracelets) to make a guitar strap? Please please let me know and what you guys would suggest!🙏 thank you in advance

i have seen people make them before. i haven’t made one personally but i would say don’t use embroidery floss!! it would not be strong enough to hold the guitar and be reliant. it’s also expensive for something that you going to be making thats so long. I would say use crochet thread or a certain kind of yarn that doesn’t get too fuzzy

i would say i got this one yarn called like sugar and spice or sth. that was a good sturdy yarn. i would definitely say a yarn that’s sturdy and not too soft.

I've seen a user on here make bag straps etc with normal patterns and I think they double/triple each thread when making them! Check out #85779 for a reference pic/potential pattern ☺️

You can also check out that pattern ^ creator's page, they make lots of big straps and have some videos up as well! Good luck!
