i prefer most alphas without straight edges! i think the like zig zag edges look really lovely and more professional even when it’s knotted well! there are some patterns i’ve done with straight edges just because i liked it for that specific pattern, but usually i love the normal edges ☺️

@Cassie989 yes i totally agree about the string! there are a couple bad brands/batches that i’ve had problems with, but the cheap packs you buy on ebay/aliexpress/amazon are usually fantastic and i don’t really see a difference between those and the couple bracelets i’ve made with dmc! neatness is more to do with practice in my experience 🙂

-shaped bracelets look odd-i do not understand how people cut off excess string from the back and sides of alphas and it does not look awful |

i love this thread haha 😄-> there is nothing wrong with shaped patterns. they are so fun to make -> those normal patterns made up of a chain of squares are the exception. |

@spyderwebs Agree! Alphas that don't have the straight edge technique have such a cute homemade feel to them! 😍 I think this way about normal patterns too

Choosing the string at the store and finding the colors you want is one of the lesser fun parts about making bracelets 🙈It can still be fun, but I'm so picky about colors 🤪 It takes me too long to decide, and then I end up buying much more than I need, lol. |
