hey everyone! so ik most homecoming dances aren’t until like the end of september/ early october, but i needed some advice.

issue #1:
so i want to ask my crush to homecoming and ik we both already know we’re gonna go together if one of us asks, but i think we’re still nervous about asking. and he already knows that i like him, and he likes me back, but we aren’t dating yet. i don’t want him to feel pressured like its a date, but i also want to go as more than friends to the dance. i also don’t know if he wants to ask me first, instead of me asking him, since i did make the first move in terms of confessing my feelings.

and issue #2:
i haven’t told my parents like i like someone who also likes me back, and even if we go as just friends, they might be a little suspicious. i’ve hung out with this person with friends before, and my friends were fine with it, but since it’s a dance idk if they will. i’m in high school but they have always been weird about relationships and things like that. and my dad had a whole talk about “be careful with boys” and “some boys are gross” etc, etc. but my crush isn’t like that at all. and we’re both rlly chill so nothing crazy would happen. but either way, idk if i should ask my crush to the dance first and THEN tell my parents since at that point it would be too late for them to say no, or if I should just ask them first and then hope that they trust me or him enough to allow it. Which my mom will most likely say yes, but my dad might say no, and if he says no then it’ll be extremely difficult trying to talk him into changing his mind.

so pls lmk what you think i should do!
