I don’t really have plot ideas, more just tips on getting out of writers block.
1. Change what you’re doing, paint, sketch, use a different medium. I like to illustrate certain scenes from my writing, but you do you.
2. Look up photos and characters that have the same theme, occupation, or general “vibe”.
3. Look through old notes and stories. I use the notes app on my phone to keep my ideas in one place when I’m on the go, and I find it nice when I’m stuck to just flip through old notes and ideas.
4. Get a notebook and write anything. This may seem stupid or whatever cause you have writers block, so writing is uh, at a stand still, but it doesn’t have to make sense or be the next scene or chapter, just write little scenes, lines that characters say, create a little world on the page. Take inspo from anything as well, maybe it’s the weather that you write about or add in, maybe it’s the shoes you’re wearing.
5. Use blurred out plot lines, for example: girl stands in for sister when she’s elected in a game of life and death. Now make it yours, change the characters, change the scenario. I don’t know where I heard it, but someone said once upon a time “writers don’t steal, they borrow” no story is completely original, so take aspects of life, or other books that you enjoyed and add them in. (That being said, I don’t promote stealing other peoples work or copying it) (:
