if you have wavy puffy hair what’s your nightly hair routine that makes it nice for in the morning? cuz the only thing i can find that works is washing it early and and air drying? blow drying makes it super puffy. and going to sleep with wet hair makes it frizzy and puffy and greasy!

normally i’ll just try to take a shower around 730 or so so it can air dry before i go to sleep. but if i can’t blow dry it i’ll just sleep on it then in the morning use dry shampoo and pull it back or iron it

ahh so sorry, but was gonna say i just braid it when wet and go to bed like that, with a normal braid or put it in a low bun overnight. ignore everything else i said, for a sec i thought you were asking how to make your hair wavy

I do a simplified version of the curly girl method for wavy hair and it defo keeps my waves more controlled / less poofy - you can check out different methods online bc not everyone uses the same products! But some of the steps remain the same e.g. hair scrunching which is key to making waves hold their shape 😊
What works for me is that I usually wash my hair, condition, then after add some leave in conditioner and a tiny amount of mousse mixed with water. I keep scrunching my hair whenever I add product and then I let it air dry. I also wear a bandana to keep the top of my head / baby hairs from getting frizzy, and the bandana doesn't leave a dent in my hair like the plastic hair bands do 😅
And then by the time my hair is dry I either put it in a low ponytail or loose braid and I'd sleep w the bandana on just for some protection (even though it would come off when I sleep haha)
And then in the morning if anything looks a little frizzy I just go back in w a small amt of leave-in mixed in water just to dampen my hair and fix the flyaways. But not too much to get it looking greasy 😊

Your waves won't hold their shape for long which kinda sucks but it defo helps keep your hair soft and not frizzy!

And there are methods to blow dry wavy hair as well, the most important is using a diffuser bc that prevents your hair from getting poofy

Sorry for the essay hehe but I hope it helps! 🤗

Oh and no dry brushing/ combing your hair! U can detangle with a wide comb when you have conditioner in, and then ofc if u need to comb your hair for a style u can just do the top to smoothen it out but for me running my hands thru my hair is a good enough detangler when my hair is dry 😂
