I lived in a state for eleven and a half years, I had never moved, until a year and a half ago. In the state were I previously lived I never really made friends, and now in this state I have made one friend, but she is moving at the end of the summer and I will be left friendless 🙁, btw I am homeschooled

I have really strict parents so I I’m always hiding things and not being honest. Abt stuff that I shouldn’t even hide. Normal things. I feel horrible bc of this but it’s not my fault I’m getting to the age where I should have privacy and be able to do things. But I can’t. I only feel myself with my friends. There like me weird and sad so I’m who I really am. Idk what should I do?

Aww i'm sorry. 🙁
I have SUPER strict parents as well, and have hidden things from them. I have really strict screen limits, and when i first got my device, i would give myself more time because i secretly new the pass code. I downloaded a coloring app with a social platform, and quickly became addicted to the app. my parents looked through my tablet, found out, and took away my screen privileges for a while. I'm glad they stopped me from that app, but i didn't like how they looked through all my messages and everything else that i thought was private.
I've had the same restrictions for 2 years (no google/internet, no social media, time limits/downtime), and probably wont get social media until i'm 18.

I agree that i'm only myself with my friends, and i think the reason i hide that from my parents is because they wouldn't get it. I swear every one and a while with my friends, and make a few "that's what she said" jokes 😂 i have little sister who is as tall as me (i'm short and shes super tall!!) and i feel like my mom and dad treat me like i'm her age. They let my older sister stay up, but never have let me do that. I've had the same rules tv, book, really anything wise, even though my sister never has those restrictions. I always try and tell them that i'm a teenager, not 10 year old, but they don't think they treat me like a little kid.

My parents always tell me that my life will be better if i didn't grow up constantly on screens, social media, swearing and i agree with them.
Even thought its frustration, i always try to remember that they are giving me restrictions because they care about me. In my opinion, i'd take parents who care a bit too much over parents how don't care at all.

Again, i'm really sorry. I would recommend talking to your parents/guardians about less restrictions, and maybe telling them about something you hid from them, and then WHY you hid it from them. let them know you would like your privacy, and ask if they can trust you to do that. I would love it of my parents could respect my privacy, but they don't really understand that.

I would say if there is anything on your phone/tablet you don't want your parents/guardians to see, delete it and try to avoid it in the future.

Sorry i'm a really bad typer!! hope my writing makes sense! 😄

Sorry a wrote so much, its just i've never met someone in a similar situation with me like you are.

Best of luck!

I like reading, doing puzzles, listening to music (although I have no talent singing or playing an instrument), being with my dog and being with children. (I would like to babysit when I am a bit older) Do you have pets?

@knot2shaby yeah thanks. I’m sorry for you too. They want the best for us but it just makes us sneaky. They don’t understand that there hurting us more than helping. But it is what it is. I might talk abt taking off restrictions soon but idk. Thanks💛

And also abt the deleting stuff off my phone I have restrictions where I can’t delete apps or search history. Like what?!? And I have a brother who is a few yrs older than me and still has restrictions. (He’s a lot worse than me and always getting in trouble abt his phone and is the reason we both have restrictions) I just feel like they wouldn’t understand and take it the wrong way. Like you don’t want restrictions so you can watch bad stuff. And the things (I guess) there trying to keep away from me I already know abt and have for years sooooo that’s not helping. So yeah. Idk I might ask butttttt yk how it is….

My dad set a screen time limit on my and my sisters phone. I’m 12 and she’s 9 almost 10. I only get 30 min on the weekdays and 1 hr on the weekend. It’s only on TikTok, YouTube, safari, and games tho. It’s still super annoying. None of my friends have time limits and it bothers me. It also causes me stress. I have asked him before to take it off. I even wrote a 10 paragraph essay about it once. He said it was good but it didn’t change his mind. Advice?

Omg same! I would ask your dad (or another parent) if you could have a longer limit since you are older. Personally, I would say a limit on social media is good, but a games or overall limit is just frustrating. Keep trying, and show him that you are trustworthy and hopefully you can convince him to give you less restrictions.
🤞 good luck!!!
