Anyone watched Turning Red yet?

I watched Turning Red last night and I wanted to hear other people's opinions on it. Red pandas are my favorite animal so I obviously love that part, and I love the message, but the actual movie was a bit off. I prob won't watch it again except if I forget what happens in it.

I agree. I liked the concept of it, but I feel like they overdid it just a little bit. And the idea of the quirky middle school friend group is relatable, but they took it a little too far. It was a cute movie, but I agree that I also won’t watch it again. I did kinda like the soundtrack though.

It was a fun movie I would probably watch it again but not too soon 🙂 . The next time I do watch it, the language will probably be in Japanese cuz I like how it sounds in Disney movies and I feel like it makes things more emotional. 😊

I didn't enjoy watching it, I think I would've enjoyed it more if I hadn't watched it with my brothers.

@peanutsv If you already have Disney+, then I would watch it just for something to do. If you don't already have Disney+ then it isn't worth paying for Disney+. That is just my opinion.

I saw the trailers and was really excited. Then I saw it and was disappointed. The concept was good, but I don't think they did it well. And I found 4 Town quite cringey.Disney in general has fallen a bit in recent years in my opinion. Like, Encanto was okay, but everyone I know is talking about the soundtrack, not the movie. Ron's Gone Wrong was cute, but that's the exception. I think they're rushing some of this stuff to be honest. |

@Cons the ‘problems’ were resolved way too easily 😂 It’s an Asian kid’s dream come true; in reality though, you’d be lucky if your parents still feed you after you disagree with them. An apology from one’s elders is one super rare unicorn in the asian community; near non-existent. 🥲

and yeah, i thought the problems got resolved too quickly and the plot wasnt made as well as other disney movies

I like it, it did seem like something there would be controversy over considering she went against her mom. I loved the girl who was more gender neutral being in a Disney movie. To me that’s kinda a big deal! (: although saying SHE was “weird” was kinda unnecessary since there were multiple other girls that could’ve been called weird but in my opinion it’s not that big a deal. I related on some of the stuff like not feeling good enough and the not 100% perfect parent-child relationship and I teared up a bit around there, I think it’s rare for a mother daughter relationship to be portrayed as something other then sunshine and rainbows. Overall it was cute and I’d watch again (:

@magicali- I agree. I feel like Disney hasn’t made any rlly GOOD movies in a long time. I think Encanto was wayyy to overrated. But that’s just my opinion

@Maky_Wacky I feel the same way about encanto! Like it was fine, but something was just missing and it felt kinda off. I also feel like We Don't Talk About Bruno is also overrated. I like the other songs more.
