Hi! I've been thinking about starting a online business o likely etsy or instagram but I have no idea what to set the pricing, how to set everything up, packages, orders or anything, if you do have a business or have knowledge of it can you help? i don’t have one, but if i ever created one, i’d probably do different prices for different string ranges(2-10, 11-16, 16+) or something like that, or by how long they take to make, but honestly it’s up to you. not trying to talk you out of starting one or anything, but i’d also think about if it’s something where you want to be making orders, or where it’s you sell pre-made stuff that people pick from. the main reason i don’t have one is because i go through phases where i really don’t want to make bracelets and i don’t want to feel like i have to.

for prices i mostly just go on how this the bracelet is and how long it took, under 20 strings is under $15 and anything over that is priced higher. for shipping within my country i just put them in an envelope with a stamp, but internationally i use a padded envelope and buy labels of etsy : )

thank you! i’ve been running my shop for almost two years so the sales kinda add up haha! i feel like selling on instagram isn’t the greatest idea because people are more there to browse whereas etsy is more dedicated to selling homemade stuff. an instagram account is definitely useful for advertising and getting inspiration though, but you need to be super consistent in posting or it’s really difficult to grow 😁

@erintolsma I'll keep that in mind, the thing is Etsy costs money, and for reasons I'm not allowed to spend money until I'm sure that I'll get a sale, so I'm not sure what to do 😂

that’s true! it only takes around 20 cents per listing so opening a shop doesn’t cost that much. the only things that really costs a lot are shipping labels and the transaction fees which you only have to worry about after you sell something!

you can sell stuff before it’s made! that’s how i do custom orders, people choose the color and length they want and i make it after they order

yeah no problem! the more listings you have, the better your chances are of getting higher on the results pages, and i’d definitely recommend having a lot of simpler bracelets with customizable colors (chevrons are my best seller and i allow people to choose their color combinations)
