Hiiiii! Back in the old days I ran a crochet class on Bb, but it's been a while since I posted. 😂 I've been crocheting for yearrrsssss now, and while I wouldn't say that I am a master at it, I've got plenty of tips up my sleeve just from trial and error. 😄 I can PM you some patterns or if you have any questions feel free to ask!! 👍

@Hk14 Thanks! I would say that amigurumi can seem intimidating when you’re a beginner, but it’s actually a lot easier than you may think. There’s just some basic techniques you have to learn(magic ring, increases and decreases, sewing on parts, etc) but once you know the basic techniques, you can pretty much make any amigurumi! However, you should probably be familiar with crochet stitches(single crochet mostly) before starting. When I first began crocheting I wanted to make amigurumi right away, before understanding the absolute basics of crochet. I actually kind of succeeded to make a pretty cute crochet octopus. It was hard, but definitely not impossibly hard, even though I neglected to learn the absolute basics. So, I think that you could totally start amigurumi early, just learn crochet stitches first, and use a video tutorial instead of a written pattern for your amigurumi. Hope this helps! 💕 |

@fuzzyfox ok so my yarn just came into the mail today and I only have a 6.5 mm hook so I’m waiting for the set of other sizes to come in but I tried doing a simple chain with what I had and I kinda got it it’s was just hard to figure out how to position my hand and just tension kept changing so there were different size chains idk how to fix it 😅

Eee tension is something you just have to work on. Good tension comes with practice. 🙈

If you want some links to tips for the basics, I've got a few! Just lmk. Make sure you are holding the yarn tautly, but loose enough that it slides through your fingers easily. Sometimes if you are holding your yarn too loose it can mess with your tension/chain size. 😉 It doesn't take long, you'll get the hang of it! It can just be a little confusing at first. 😊 (You shoulda seen my first attempts... but then again I am very glad no one did 😂) |

@fuzzyfox ok thank you! yeah I assume it’s like knotting where you just have to practice which I get do you think it’s easier for a beginner to use a bigger hook or a smaller hook? right now i’m using a 3-4 weight yarn…also whatever links you have would be great!
