hi! sooo I'm currently questioning if I'm bi and I have no idea how to be certain if I l'm bi or not. I really just want some advice on how you knew you were bi or pan or asexual or gay or a lesbian or any of the many more labels that exist. (also if this question is worded in a way that offends any LGBTQ+ people I'm very sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't really know how else to word this)

I have to say for me personally, it took a while until I was really sure. So I would say my number one recommendation is to not stress yourself out and to take your time.I only really figured out that I was a lesbian once I was at peace with myself. I'm currently reading a text on creativity and problem solving for uni, but I think this applies here too: it can be helpful to put this to the back of your mind for a while, your brain will still work on it subconsciously and after a while it might make a connection that might be the solution and then come back to the forefront of your mind Another thing that is written in the same text: knowledge about a topic helps (but only until a certain amount of knowledge), so I would recommend to try to educate yourself as much as possible because then you will be able to make new and better connections |

@audreyt293 if you want a more detailed conversation about my story and how i found out you can always DM me. But the core of it now is indeed to not stress yourself out. Take your time! You owe it to nobody to come out or put a label on yourself if you not ready yet. And even then! You are who you are and that is an amazing person! It takes time to figure out your sexuality and/or gender. It is not an easy proces, but it is worth figuring out in my opinion. Whatever you find out, you will have a lot of selfdiscovery in the end. 😊 |

@halokiwi @Karo-H thank you both so much for the advice! I'll definitely start doing more research on the topic and try not to stress myself out about it

Tbh I'm sort of in the same boat as you so I can't really give advice 😄 but I would agree to try not to overanalyze or stress yourself out over it too much, you don't have to label yourself if you don't want to (or if you do want to then that's still valid)

so i figured out that i was gay like a year and a half ago, but it took a while to figure out that i was a lesbian, demiromatic, and asexual, and i’m still questioning my gender. so really my advice is to not worry to much about labels, bc they don’t really matter that much and can change over time
