Hi! Me and my siblings are asking for a group gift this year from our grandma and we are going for the Nintendo Switch. We have a Wii right now but we feel like it is time to upgrade. What games do you recommend? Please keep them in an E for Everyone rating because I have a 6 year old sister who also wants to play. I would also like a short description of each game. Thanks for your time and thank you! Have a great holiday season everyone!

I have a game, I think it’s called “toads world” on like the mushroom from Mario. Anyways my dad got me it and it is one of the best games ever! But that might not be exactly what it’s called

Mario cart 8, you probably know what it is it's a racing game with a bunch of characters, vehicles, tracks to race in. It's super fun and everyone can play (:

You could also look into a jackbox party pack, I don't have it on the switch but it's on laptops n such and you join the game from your phone. I think it's up to 8 players or sum and depending on the players can get very interesting.. It has multiple games I think your little siblings could play (:

Mario Cart 8 and Zelda Breath of the Wild are both really fun! But Zelda might be kinda hard for younger kids 🙂

Animal crossing new horizons would be PERFECT for you and your sister! You get to design your dream island, meet villagers, gather resources, and more!! You can go fishing, snorkeling, hunt for seashells, and it’s such a fun and relaxing game.

I'll be honest I don't play a lot of games so I can't give a lot of good reccs but I feel like I've played enough to at least give some! it honestly depends on how y'all are planning on utilizing your switch, like play styles and stuff. Like are you planning on playing together? playing separately? some mix of the two? What kinds of games do you guys like playing on the wii? are they platformers? Open world type games? These are all things to consider when picking out games to play! (esp bc games cost money and if you only have enough money to buy a few games). Game reccs also depend on if you're all getting individual switches/switch lites or if you're collectively getting one big boy switch (With Joycons n stuff). These reccs are under the assumption you guys got the whole switch experience (tm) Animal crossing New Horizons is a good pick, but I only really recc if you're playing with a few players, bc only one person can really enjoy the whole experience, that is unless y'all are very cooperative and don't mind playing as one player character. The game is a slow paced open world-ish game where you get to create your own island, decorate it however you'd like and have a ton of really cute villager neighbors. Though I'm not sure if it's a great recommendation because multiplayer from ONE switch is really jenky and if you're not the first player to play it (Island Representative) then you don't get the full experience IMO. ((Stardew valley is a great alternative, though I've never played the switch version or played switch multiplayer with the game!) I really recommend snipper clips just as a game in general! It's a multiplayer game that can have up to 4 players. The game is really cute, basically you play as these little guys made out of paper, and you can cut shapes out of each other to try and solve puzzles. Some of them are a bit tricky, but if you have more than a few players it's still a great time! The best part abt this game is that you can download a FREE demo and try it out for a few levels before buying it! One of my fav wii games is Super Mario Galaxy (1+2), and Super Mario Odyssey is pretty similar to those games! I haven't played it much (rip I have no cash, played on my sister's switch) tho IMO it's hard to go wrong with ANY of the Super Mario titles, both in Multiplayer and Single player. another great Multiplayer game is OverCooked, you basically play as a bunch of little cooks trying to complete diff recipes and stuff, I haven't played it a lot but it's goofy and a ton of fun. Don't Starve is a bit of a "darker" game in aesthetics? Nothing inappropriate IMO? Based off the Tim Burton art style so it's a bit creepier in its appearance and some of the designs than some of the other games I'd recc. Survival game where you try and survive for as long as possible. I've played this game before and I find it charming, but it def depends on if u jive with the aesthetic or not. you can get Minecraft for free on switch if you have bedrock or java but Minecraft on the Switch isn't as good as Minecraft is on other platforms. I feel like I play enough pokemon that I can't NOT recommend a pokemon title, but IMO a lot of the pokemon titles for the switch rn aren't *that* great... Hopefully the new one releasing in January is better but atm I'm not a huge fan of most of them. I'm sure these aren't all my reccs but I hope you guys like some of these! Remember to keep play style and y'alls fav type of games in mind and do a bit more research! Otherwise, good luck and I hope ya'll get your switch! 😄 Imo it's a great console and I love mine a lot! |

I bought Stardew Valley on Switch recently and I really like it. It's a farming game similar to Harvest Moon, where you can farm, fish, mine, make friends with the villagers, decorate your house, etc... You can play 2 at a time with split screen. If you play you can use the stardew valley wiki to help you understand the mechanics of the game faster 🙂
