I don't really know I feel like whenever I'm in a slump I still kind of force myself to knot but maybe if you find a pattern that you REALLY want to do. Or do a pattern that you've done a million times could help you get out of that slump. Yeah don't be like me don't force yourself to work when you're in a slump. Hopefully this helps. ๐Ÿ˜

I normally have bracelet slumps for a year or so ๐Ÿ˜†
I don't know. Sometimes you just wanna make something else to do.
Don't force yourself to make bracelets, it's normal to have some off-time. If I would Force myself to make one, I would associate it with a negative feeling, that can make me think about taking a break from bracelets.
Since I haven't paint for months and don't have any joy in me doing that, โ€‹I needed to find something else for my creativity.
I get easily inspired by scrolling through bracelet photos from instagram. Also a good idea is to buy more string. Try out some special ones (I recently used a glow-in-the-dark thread, and it looks so amazing).
I hope one of them may work for you. โค๏ธ

I have different answers depending on why you knot. If you're only doing it for fun / it's just a hobby, I'd say don't force yourself as that will cause you to have a negative view on knotting. Since its been a really long time since you've knotted id say get back into it slowly, and then work up to however long you want to. Maybe set a 15 minute timer and tell yourself that if you use this 15 minutes to actually be productive, that's enough for this sitting. And be proud of yourself for finishing that much! I'd have a pattern already picked out for yourself cuz that typically takes me a while longer than 15 mins, then you can set the timer and start finding, measuring, and cutting your strings. The hardest part is usually getting the ball rolling but once you have the project ready to knot it's alot easier to pick it up and just start. Especially cuz the strings are already cut and put together and you don't want to waste them.

I'd start with either a pattern you know that you love making, or something smaller and thinner cuz a 10 string alpha is much faster to knot and finish a whole row than say your normal 25 string alphas. That way you will feel as if youre knotting really fast, even if it's the same speed as you would knot a thicker one. Also pick colors you know go well together, because winging the color scheme when coming out of a slump can actually keep me in mine if I end up not loving it halfway thru. Also, having a knotting buddy when you work on sum can help to keep you motivated to finish it once you got the ball rolling. If you want I'd be willing to do one w you ๐Ÿ˜. Alsoooooo this sounds very random but make sure your workspace is free of clutter, because having a messy room can really make me feel overwhelmed even with the small project I'm knotting. Have lots of light, that helps. Really just don't force yourself back into a hobby because it won't help, at least for me, feeling like I have the choice to come back to it rather than it being a rule or a chore is a huge deal. And if you want to be social, our chat is a really great community and most of us do like to knot so if you need help, or some inspo, or even just some friends w common interests, it's a great place. I hope this helps you. Good luck!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Also, you've knotted before, (and your photos are beautiful btw!!) so just try to find the spark you had before and build on that. I believe in you!
