@JedaKnots thank you for your kind words! My mom reminded me she doesn’t normally do things like this and I remembered that she told me she has been being bullied at school recently.

That seems very annoying, and I’m sorry you have to put up with this. I kind of feel the same way with some of the people I know. They all seem in a rush to grow up, and I feel like I’m falling behind them. But that doesn’t mean that you have to rush to grow up! Trust me, enjoy your time as a kid with not that many responsibilities, because once you get to high school you’re gonna have so many new responsibilities. But as for the bragging, just talk to her and tell her that you’re happy with what you have. She has no place to try and put you down or make herself seem better than you. I get that she’s excited, but she needs to know the difference between excited sharing and bragging if that makes sense. Anyway, I hope that helps. (;

Let's see, when I was 12, it was 1993. IPhones and tablets didn't even exist. I learned how to make simple bracelets from books and figuring out more complicated patterns on my own.

But, I had a similar problem. My family was poor and couldn't afford Nintendo or even SNES. When my other friends bragged about getting a desktop computer, we couldn't afford one. My best friend would brag about how her mom got AOL (America Online internet using the land line phone line). Sometimes my girlfriends would laugh and make mean jokes because I didn't have the newest technology like they did, But my attitude was, I just didn't care. Instead of being upset about it, I just laughed along with them. Which took their power of upsetting me away. I just joked about how poor we were and instead had fun playing at their houses with their Nintendo or the original Oregon Trail game.

My advice, shrug your shoulders, tell your friend that you are very happy with what you have. Then tell her, how happy you are that she has this iPhone 12. That will make it uninteresting for her to bother you about it. I wouldn't ditch a friend over a phone or a tablet. Just like I didn't 30 years ago over a computer or Nintendo. There literally isn't anything to be jealous about. It's just little girls being little girls. Give it a try, as the good saying goes, "Kill her with kindness" it really does work❤️
