Hi! I’m 11 years old (you’ll see why I’m saying this in a second.) So I think I’m feeling a bit jealous I guess. Today my best friend was over and she just had her 11th birthday and got an iPhone 12. I myself have an iPod 6 (works on wifi) that I got for Christmas from Santa. (Please don’t tell me he’s not real I still believe and that’s all I care about.) So she was saying that she doesn’t know how I use this and I need an iPhone 12. I said this works just fine for me and I’m really lucky to have it. She said well not as lucky as this (and pointed to her phone). I told her that when my 9 year old sister and I walked out to iPods and the other toys/books/crafts we wanted we were so surprised and grateful. Then she said you still believe in Santa? And I said yes. She said I don’t my mom told me he’s not real. So thanks for reading. Please don’t say anything that will make me feel upset or not lucky (because I am and I know that). @escobpen00 I mean sort of, but we both do it because we have been friends since birth. We share everything with each other. I couldn’t help it, but even told her the results of my baking show 🤭

@escobpen00 she’s also started cussing which I know is okay for our age (obviously it’s never great). I just have always thought of her as the girly girl nice friend. Now she wears like crop tops and stuff. I mean I guess it’s okay it’s just not the same.

@Keith_ you’re right. She’s not a rude person she’s really nice she just sometimes is a bit too comfortable with me and we need to learn how to change that with each other.

Don’t listen to her! You shouldn’t be jealous, the stuff you were saying about being grateful of what you have means you deserve everything you get! You seem like such an amazing person. In my opinion (i’m almost 16), she is way to young for an iphone 12! Maybe an iphone 5 or 6 would be alright but not an iphone 12. You should be so proud of who you are because you seem so lovely. Ignore her cussing and bragging, she’ll get over it soon, it’s just a phase, most teenagers go though it (sometimes younger). You always have the BraceletBoon community if you want to talk! Sounds like she’s trying to show off. Maybe tell her how you feel and she might realize that she took it too far. I personally think an iPhone 12 is too much for an 11 year old… I’m 13 and I don’t have any phone or iPod at all lol.

Aww, I’m sorry about that. Sounds like you have the right attitude though and I’m proud of you for that because I know from experience it can be really tough! When I didn’t have a phone at 11-12 friends would always ask me about it and act like I needed one… looking back what I had at the time worked great honestly. Good luck with her, maybe talk to her and tell her your not ok with her acting like your not as good/lucky as her? And that your perfectly okay with what you have and she should be too, or at least not harrass you about it haha. Or something like that I’m not sure the exact specifics of the situation, but I hope it resolves 🤞

I agree with @LiliahKnots . It's natural to feel like you need to show off when you get a new technology, but she'll probably get over it soon. Also I really don't get why people so young need fancy phones, I'm 13 and I have a used iPhone 8 with no cellular data.

Ok so maybe try to smooth things out with her. But just remember friends come and go true friends will come back. And well if she continues to be this way maybe try to find a new friend. Not in a mean way but you should enjoy being around your friends. Hope this helps

Also if it makes you feel better I have a iPhone 8 and I’m almost 12 and I’m not allows to wear crop tops and my messages are open and I can always talk if you need any friend help. I’ve had too many fake friends to count and ik how it feels. Try to ignore it. You’ll be much happier ♥️
