Why do people ask if they can "raid" someone's to-dos?

I personally have never understood why people ask this. I just go ahead and do it without asking. Is that considered impolite? I have no idea and I don't really understnad it...

Honestly, Iโve wondered the same thing lol. I think itโs just because people are just looking for users whose to dos they can raid (instead of just picking random people), but Iโm not really sure

It's not rude, all the patterns are available on the site anyways. Sometimes if you're looking to find patterns and start clicking on profiles you'll find that a lot of people have very few or no to-do list yet. Asking just basically allows you to reduce the time searching for a profile to go through as well as the patterns. I understand why people do it but if you click on any profile that's pretty active they'll generally have a to-do list.
