I’ve never had a nose piercing, but I think this applies for nearly every type. Use the piercing cleaner the shop gives you. Don’t mess with the jewelry. Don’t take it out until you’re supposed to. Watch for infection. As for before, drink plenty of water and eat something before you go. I hope you enjoy your piercing!

Wow I think 13 is a bit young to get a nose piercing but as long as you’re happy that’s what matters. I’ve never had anything but an ear piercing but I’ve seen how infected it gets if it’s not cleaned so make sure to take care of it!

Everyone before me gave v good advice so I'll just add a few extra points. I don't have a nose piercing but I have a bunch on my ears so I'll give you advice that can also work for a nose ring:You and your mom can search online for a reputable piercing studio together and find one you're both comfortable with. Defo make sure the piercer uses a needle and never ever a gun!! Everyone's pain tolerance is different but the actual piercing/putting the jewellery in is over before you know it, once the piercing is done your nose will be a bit sore for a little while but honestly the pain subsides very early on! It's very natural to be nervous! I've been nervous every time I've gone haha but it's nothing to worry abt in the end. You have a lot of time til it happens though, if by then you don't feel comfortable getting it done, don't be afraid to say so 🤗 there's tons of time to get it done in the future! |

I have a nose piercing, I've had it about 12 years. My advice is mostly what's been said already but also avoid *over* cleaning it. That can irritate it and cause a piercing bump. Ask your piercer their recommendation, but it's typically rinse daily in shower and then clean with saline and sterile non-woven gauze once every 2 days or so. Also don't use any things people recommend to put on it. Lots of people will tell you "put vitamin e on it, i use emu oil, wash it with cetaphil three times a day, etc." just ignore them and follow the instructions the professional gave you.

I don’t have a piercing but I went with my friend to get hers and she said it was super quick. it wasn’t as bad as she thought! make sure you eat a good breakfast and drink fluids before. just basic advice is don’t take it out until advised to. and remember, just like any piercing, if you don’t like it all you have to do it let it close up. it’s not the end of the world! but I hope you do like it and I hope to get one one day🤣
