I only enjoyed the first book, I thought the others were a waste of time. I didn't so much enjoy the romance aspect as much as I did the fighting for survival. That makes sense now, since my go-to genre for books is horror or thriller. I hate romance novels.

First one definitely spurred me on to read the rest of the books. Although, I read them when they first came out so now, the most recent addition to the series (The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes) is the only one that’s fresh in my memory. I did find that book rather interesting, the first 2 parts of the book being the best, the last part was a bit draggy, but definitely worth reading IMO. ❤️
