Define "long bio". haha. For some people, anything more than 50 words is long. And not every long bio is informative. Personally, I think a bio should tell people something about yourself—however much you want to tell. And if you don't want to reveal too much, don't. Common subjects I've seen in people's bios: - where they're from (if they want to share this) - their interests/hobbies (apart from knotting/making bracelets, because that bit is assumed. haha) - bracelet making related goals (e.g. being about to make normal/alpha patterns of more than x number of strings by [DATE], or making Y number of bracelets in a year, etc.) and their progress so far - whether they want other users to reach out to them (e.g. do they accept chat requests or not; how selective they are in accepting friend requests (or not), etc.) - books/movies/shows/comics/artists they like - fav songs/music/genres of music - fav animals/a little about their pets - fav quote(s) - some people even include an indicator for whether they are online or not. It can also be useful to mention things you don't want people to talk to you about, if you have such preferences. e.g. Some people don't want to talk about pro-choice/pro-life things, while others may not want to engage in LGBTQ+ matters. Some people also mention other users in their bios—either to recommend their patterns/work, shout-out some appreciation for something the user(s) did for them (e.g. some users make profile pictures for other users), etc. |
