Well, um, I might not be the best at this, but, just, don’t be mean to other kids, try and be polite to your teachers (I know my principal loved that I said good morning every day when entering the school), be careful what you post or chat to people (don’t say anything mean about anyone in writing, at least,)and, have fun with your friends, but if anyone (including a teacher) is mean to you, tell an adult. Also, work hard on your school work, you might think that these years don’t matter that much for college and stuff like that, but, they do, it gives you a chance to practice good study habits for the future. Well…….good luck!

I think if I had to add anything it'd be to really enjoy the things that you do (music / tv / fashion / hobbies) and not to worry if other people don't like the same thing as you, you'll always find a community either in school / online (like BB!)I defo also agree with learning good study habits from now - there's no need to pull all-nighters or anythingg like that in middle school! And there are so many websites out there with learning resources nowadays, you can really make use of them if you're stuck on any topics in school, it really helps you understand different methods to working things out (especially math subjects) Also make sure and eat something breakfast every morning lol that was a really common thing when I was in middle/high school so be sure to fuel yourself! All the best for middle school! ❤️😇 |

Well my 6th grade was cut short (it was the first year of Covid and I’m going into 8th now) but what I would say is be nice to the teachers because my 6th grade year was the best ever because I was nice to the teacher and he loved me so I was able to joke with him and I got to be with my friends for projects and stuff. I only had one teacher because I go to a K-8 school so if you have multiple teachers it might be a little harder but still be nice to teachers. Always ask questions when you don’t understand! A few years ago I would always be scared to ask then I would get the answer wrong so always ask! Do projects early and start as soon as they are assigned. I always got mine done at least a few days before it was due and other kids in my class left it till the last minute and the got bad marks. Don’t get sucked into drama and don’t hang with people who start drama. The group like that in my school always flunks everything so just avoid that. Good luck on your school year! I’m a little worried myself about my upcoming year. It’s my last year at this school before high school and if anyone has any tips for 8th grade I’d love to hear those too!

Hey! I’m a 9th grader freshly out of middle school. 6th grade was my last full school year that was in person. And I loved it! If your in America, the school work won’t be to hard. I don’t know for other countries. Don’t be scared for math. You look and think it’s all scary and hard but after paying attention for an hour you’ll get an easy A. I don’t know what tips to give so I’m just gonna state why 6th grade was so much fun me and other middle school things. GO TO HOMECOMING/SCHOOL DANCES I never went to sporting events but I did go to hoco. It was one of the best nights of my life so far. Don’t be scared of the upperclassmen (7th and 8th graders) they might seem much older and scary but they aren’t. They were in 6th grade less then 2 years ago, it’s okay. My next one is Don’t get social media you’ll regret it. Platforms like this is fine. But don’t get insta or snap they make you grow up to fast and I know. Also- date. Dare who ever if you want to. This is the time of your life when you can do anything and have like no punishment for it. Like love wise- anyhow ummm focus in your classes duh. Ear lunch with the people sitting alone. My best friends came to sat wiirh me when I was alone.

No problem! And yeah like the person above me said, don’t be scared of older kids! Tbh I was scared of 6th graders last year in 7th grade 😂 and as a soon to be 8th grader, I remember being in 6th grade clear as day so I really don’t think of you as any lower than anyone else. Anyways good luck!

Ask for help when you need it, especially in math. Middle school math goes by super quickly, so pay attention, take notes, and get help from your friends and teachers when you need it 🙂

You have nothing to worry about. Middle school isn’t very hard, but I suggest taking a lot of notes and staying on top of your game. Don’t let your homework get pushed aside, because “I’ll do it later” turns into “I have a bad grade”

movies and shows don’t really do a good job at showing what middle school is like, so you don’t actually have to worry about bullies or being shoved into a locker or anything. be polite to your teachers, stay on top of schoolwork, and just remember that on the first day, everyone is exactly as confused and lost as you are. don’t be afraid to ask teachers for directions to classes. asking for help when you need it goes a long way.

@juliana_e I'm in Grade 8 rn and all I have to say is STAY AWAY FROM TOXIC PEOPLE!!! STAY AWAY FROM DRAMA!!! STAY AWAY FROM RELATIONSHIPS!!! All you should focus on is yourself, your friends and your schoolwork! Don't get into any un-needed dramas that don't concern you! Goodluck and I hope you have a great time being in middle school <3 Take care xx

Also, if you have something to say to someone, do NOT say it over social media! Always confront your problems in real life and make sure that if you send something to someone that you won't regret it later. Anything you type or send to someone or say over a call can be screenshotted and recorded and it's better to stay away from solving problems online. : )

I’m going into 8th grade and it will be my job to help the 6th graders. Know your schedule as soon as possible. Know at least one person in every class. Be polite to the other kids (especially other 6th graders) Most if the 8th graders should leave you alone but if they don’t you should not be afraid to stand up for yourself

Exactly what xxAiennaxx said, stay away from the toxic people. I got myself wrapped up into being a friend with one of the toxic people at my school, and now that I’m going into 7th I’m hoping they completely forgot me. But just be yourself, be nice to teachers and classmates, and now your golden!
