When male (and female, if you can believe it) mentors treat girl differently over boys. Especially at school like in science and technology the teachers always ask the boys when they have trouble with an electronic and you can tell the boys have no idea what they're doing, and I see they're 👌this close to messing up real bad and I'm raising my hand up like Hermione Granger back here and the teacher says No _______, this smart chap's helping me fine. And I'm like-

I hate how dress codes in school are targeting girls. They target girls because they are showing to much skin and “the boys can’t control themself”. Sometimes they also send girls home from school and stop them from learning. This just shows that they value the boys education more then the girls. Instead of condemning girls for wearing what they want they should teach boys how to respect women enough to not get distracted every time they see a shoulder or a caller (don’t think I spelled that right) bone. It is so unfair how they tread girls.

I refuse to watch mens soccer games because how little the women are paid compared to the men. People believe I can't do the same things as them cause I'm a female. It drives me insane.

@Thunder344 Agreed! On my team all of the guys (regardless of speed or ability) are taken very seriously, when myself and about 10 other girls are put in the “slow lanes” because we are girls.

@GenMalucci oof. I really didn't think that much about sexist things until i saw this thread and saw how many girls had these problems. It's really sad.

@Thunder344 I think it’s because women are assumed to get a spouse who will earn the money for them

@GenMalucci but that's not true, and it's somewhat insulting (for me at least) for people to think that.

when the teachers go “i need a strong boy to help me carry this” or “i need a fast boy to run and fetch me something”. LIKE SERIOUSLY?! i’m the 3rd fastest kid in my year, and considering i’m pretty much a foot smaller than most people in my year, and just much smaller overall, id say thats pretty good. and the two faster than me are boys.when i want to buy a hoodie in red but all the hoodies in the girls section are pink, white and pastel colours. like why isn’t there a frickin red hoodie in the girls section? as a result about half my wardrobe is from the boys section. when you’re on your period and the teacher won’t let you go to the toilet. one of my friends who goes to a different school has a friend who was on her period and she kept asking the teacher if she could go to the toilet, and he kept saying no. it got to the point where she was screaming at the teacher in front of the class “I’M ON MY PERIOD AND I NEED TO GO AND CHANGE MY PAD AND IF YOU DON’T LET ME GO I WILL BLEED INTO MY SCHOOL UNIFORM” and he still didn’t let her go, so she just stormed out. i was in utter shock when my friend told me. i was going into town with two of my friends and i was wearing green knee length camouflage shorts, a blue t shirt with a shark, a maroon zip up hoodie and adidas superstars. and they said to me “have you borrowed your brothers clothes??” and i was shell shocked they even had the nerve to say that to my face. i’m no where near done but imma stop now 😂 |

ok these have been mentioned but im just gonna put them out there again:i HATE how all the famous soccer (or any sport for that matter) teams are just boy teams. and not only that, but litteraly NO ONE watches girl soccer championships. yk the eurocup thats for soccer? its only boys teams. ive never seen girl soccer or basketball games on tv, in fact the only sport that they've shown girls play is tennis. i also hate the stereotype that girls like pink. i recently got a gift from some people, and they also gave a similar gift to my brother. the gift was a cap and a backpack thing,,, both of those things were pink. like yes, im thankful for the gift, but do you know why they gave me pink? have i ever told them i like pink? no. they just assumed i did cus im a girl. then for my brother they got the same thing but in black. like black a black cap and black backpack are things that i would actually use (im still really grateful for the gift and will use it, that was just an example) |

Hi! I’m back 😄 This is mostly my grandma that does this, but she’s always assuming that stuff is too heavy for me to carry it, even though I’m very strong (thanks, gymnastics). Instead of letting my carry stuff, she’ll give it to my little brother who can barely pick up a gallon jug of milk. Like we were helping my grandma move into a new house and she had

She had this one bin that was rlly full and she was like “oh we’ll come back and bring that one in together. Then I said “No Mimi it’s fine I can take it in myself that way we don’t have to come back since we’re almost done.” And then she kept saying how it was fine and that she was just gonna go get my dad to grab it or my little brother. But then, she told my brother to get it, and he literally dropped the bin and almost broke it. So then I just picked it up and took it inside.

But like it’s so frustrating when she assumes that stuff is too heavy. She does it a lot, and so does my other grandma (my mom’s mom). It just bothers me so much.

And there’s another thing: my step grandfather is always calling me “princess” and it seriously bugs me. Like sure it was cute when I was five or whatever but I’m in high school and it’s not cute anymore. Even when I was little I didn’t like him calling me that, but I just assumed he would stop once I got older. But he didn’t. I can’t go to my grandparent’s house without him calling me princess at least once, and it’s kinda getting annoying

@nev_m_07 I get called princess as well, and I won’t mention my age, but at my age it’s really frustrating. My grandmother calls me princess whenever she’s over and it drives me nuts. And the weight thing too. My brother brushed me off because I was “unable” to carry a box when we were moving and I ended up picking it up and it wasn’t very heavy.
