I’m not diagnosed, and am not trying to self diagnose or diminish the experiences of people with ADHD, but I’m very sure I have it. Like I’m in tik tok and Insta reels a lot, and and video that comes up on adhd, I relate to sooo deeply. Like I can never do anything until that boost if motivation and then do a million Things. 😅 anyone else? And if you have adhd? How’d you get diagnosed? How would I even bring that up? I also feel like some symptoms I mask with anxiety or depression ( I’m also not diagnosed but the symptoms have been persistent for years)

Honestly… there’s a high chance I could have it (I’m not diagnosed) along with anxiety.

Hi! I relate to your issues and to symptoms and signs of ADHD as well. I'm currently being diagnosed by a psychologist (by way of a lot of different, researched questionnaires). My advice to you is, if you relate AND having difficulties with discipline, just functioning (prfessionally or personal), go to your GP, or a mental health institution and ask what the possibilities are to get help/tools/diagnosis/whatever it is you need in this situation. Hope this answers your question 🙂 if not, I'd be happy to just discuss or something |

hi fellow ADHDer here! i agree with @kajph with how to get or proceed with a diagnosis. i’m currently being testing/ pyschoeducational testing ed again for like the third time to keep my to continue to receive accommodations at school. it’s like taking different tests to understand and evaluate the way you think and process.

Me omg. About 60%of people with adhd, also have anxiety and depression. I got diagnosed about a year and a half ago because my teachers and others noticed I couldn’t focus and I was struggling to do well. Then i got tested with the school psychologist and they figured out it was adhd

If you're a minor in the US how it works is basically:- go to your doctor and just say you have concerns you might have ADHD. Having a parent to back you up is a bonus. Don't dance around the topic, just openly and honestly state why you have these concerns. - They'll ask you some questions and then give your parent forms to fill out and have your teachers, mentors, etc. fill out. They're private assesments that you shouldn't look at. They need to be honest in a way that can be upsetting but they have to be to get you proper care. - When the forms are returned to the doc they will review them and then bring you back in for another appointment where you and your parents discuss the results and any potential diagnosis and treatments (meds, therapy, and or coaching) I have ADHD, was diagnosed when I was 16 and my 9 year old daughter is also diagnosed ADHD. |

Hi, I have ADHD, and have been diagnosed for a little more than two years now. I agree with @rumpleknot and @kajph about how to go about getting diagnosed, since that was kind of how I got diagnosed. Also, some people can have anxiety and/or depression along with ADHD.Another thing is that there's three diagnosable types of ADHD : hyperactive-impulsive, inattentive, and combined, which is sort of a mix between the two. But symptoms usually vary from person to person, and no two people usually have the exact same experience with ADHD. This person does a better job at explaining it than I ever could : https://twitter.com/adhd_alien/status/1191403158825848832. I hope this helps 😊 |

so I'm 17 and I just got diagnoed when I was in like 7th grade so maybe 12 years old and I have more symptoms like ADD where I my brain is hyperactive not my body which is why it was so hard for me to get diagnosed. I also have a lot of issues with executive function so I have trouble with long term and short term memory, flexibility with my thinking and self control. So for me I don't have issues with like self control in the way where I'll just do something randomly but if something triggers a big emotion like anger I have trouble keeping that checked so if someone makes me mad for whatever reason I tend to just go off on them. or even a slight inconvenience like being late really triggers it. for my memory I use a lot of mnemonic devices to help me remember stuff for long term or short term memory. with flexibility I have trouble thinking about how some people really can't do everything I do and sometimes I have to be more flexible with them or when plans change out of my favor without warning or reason my brain has a lot of trouble with that. my dm's on here and insta are always open if you need more support with getting diagnosed or trying to get diagnosed for anyone. I've noticed that the older you are the harder it is to get diagnosed so if you have a hunch about it I would talk to your docto as soon as you can since I am not a doctor nor psycologist who can give you a professional opinion or diagnosis but that's what is up with me. again my insta is @Mimi_knots and you can always dm me there or on here 🙂

I don’t have ADHD, but many of my friends believe they do. I have anxiety and was just recently diagnosed and put on medication. If I were you I would talk to a parent AND head to a doctor. Ever since I was put on medication I have been able to manage way better.
