…. I have been wondering that. I want Pinterest for ideas for art. Such as painting, cake pop decorating, fashion, drawing and so on. My parents are super strict about it so I can’t but maybe someday when I’m 18 😬

A few days ago I found out that one of my friends who lives in a faraway time zone has instagram and it would help us stay close. I would also like to see more varied and different bracelet/creative content through instagram. I've been thinking about asking my parents, but I never have in the past. We've barely even talked about it since they just assumed it's something I don't want, but I've changed my mind. I'm also a bit insecure about not having it since people look at me like I'm an innocent little 5 year old when I tell them I don't have social media. There's no way I'm doing it in secret because I also need parental permission to download apps. Any tips on how to approach it or how to bargain would be appreciated. -a sad girl with an insecurity of fomo |

My parents aren't very strict so I was able to start using some websites at a young age.

in my family only my older sister has social media (just snapchat) and she got it when she was a senior in high school by saying she needed it for a class group chat, which she did i guess. she didn't really want it that bad though.

well actually I have pinterest because one day I just made an account. I feel like its basically the same as having a bracelet book account except that on bb you can talk to ppl.

i think the real reason why parents don't what you to get social media is because it is such an open community (not only in a bad way) that can influence your daily thoughts, when its actually just a portion of people out of the population that are on socials daily, posting their opinions, starting fights, etc. i think the most important thing is that you need to show your parents that you are responsible and can take accountability for your mistakes. social media has its pros and cons, and i think most parents don't realize its actually a great source to interact with friends over seas and alk to people with the same interests as you.

I asked my parents if I could get Snapchat to talk to my friends bc they all had Snapchat and I didn’t and I told them that it would be better ways to show my Etsy and they said that I could only add
