but if there are no fences and your community is a animal friendly community, I don’t think she can just call the pound on the outdoor cat because it’s in her yard. if she has a dog or someone in the family is allergic to the cat, I can see why she wouldn’t want him in the yard. but if she has no valid excuse I’m sure the pound would just give you a warning or something. this is just my opinion because I don’t know much about this topic lol

btw everyone she’s starting to feel guilty cause me dad told her that me and my brothers were very sad and mad so she’s hasn’t brought it up but either way if she stops we’re still gonna keep him inside cause it’s the type of weather where the yellow jackets get mad and I walked outside and got stung so uh yeah idk

Just to be sure, you could call at the pound and ask what animals they take in and if there's anything that you could do to prevent your cat from ending up there. A collar could be removed easily by your neighbour if she's mean enough to really call there. Is your cat chipped? You could tell the people at the pound as well about your situation and describe what your cat looks like and give them your phone number and additionally call there as soon as your cat is missing for longer than half a day. I've heard about how found/stray animals are treated in the US, so if you want to protect your and lots of other cats in the long run, you could support or even join an organisation that fights against this cruelty. There are enough countries where things are handled different, so it's proven to be possible. There's definitely no need to kill pets after 6 weeks in the pound. |
