Hi! Iโve been crocheting for around 5 years now so hopefully I can help! Iโd recommend making something like a scarf for your first project as itโs quite straight forward. If you go on YouTube and search beginner crochet tutorial there is heaps of good ones on there. Good luck!

Potholders! They're great beginners' projects because they're not that big, can be used as presents for mums, grannies etc., are simple to do, cotton crochet yarn is available in what feels like 1000 different brands and colours, isn't too expensive and available pretty much everywhere, you can accomplish wow-effects by just using a few nice colours, there are a gazillion free patterns on the net and tutorials on Youtube and you can learn a new stitch, technique or effect with every new potholder, so your skills advance quite fast.1. Plain square 2. Square with stripes in different colours https://i.pinimg.com/originals/bd/7c/d0/bd7cd05ef41fcbb1918ecf444e1e371c.jpg, https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2e/44/b8/2e44b8aa54303bd9799c188046991773.jpg 3. Around the corner https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b1/44/c7/b144c712f672285f3b00e4721b8f804c.jpg (maybe with some different colours ๐ ) 4. Crocheting simple stripes, weaving them and crocheting around the outline to fix everything together https://www.crazypatterns.net/uploads/cache/items/2015/09/8012/crochet-potholder-675x450.jpg 5. Same as 3 but around 4 corners and adding a few decorational stitches https://images4-g.ravelrycache.com/uploads/lillabjorncrochet/444938399/Tulip_2_small2.jpg Once you've got the hang of it (and if you're not too annoyed of sewing loose ends ๐), you can even do them in pixel art and crochet some patterns from here on braceletbook. |
