hey guys! so I just got my first dose about a week ago and I passed out after 5 minutes of getting it- my doctor said it was linked to anxiety.... not sure about that because I don’t have much anxiety and especially not with vaccines but yk the doctor knows more than me. I was wondering if any of you guys had the same thing? is this like a common thing?

I would be careful with getting another. Especially because of the recent investigations of the vaccine. Just watch out for future signs. Overall you’ll probably be fine

I didn’t actually pass out, but about 15 minutes after getting my first dose I nearly did. I was super pale, felt light headed, and had some chills. they said it was likely because of my blood sugar, it was in the morning and I didn’t have any breakfast beforehand. they told me to eat a big breakfast right before my second dose and I did, didn’t feel sick or faint or anything. so it may have been that. I do have anxiety and it could have also been related. I definitely don’t think it’s uncommon

My sister passed out from a vaccine a while ago it wasn't the covid vaccine, but they said it was because of anxiety and her fear of needles too

Yeah, I’ve heard of this happening, but I wouldn’t say it’s super common. It’s most likely because you didn’t eat or drink enough before you got the vaccine, so it made you feel light-headed. Don’t feel discouraged to get a second dose or a different vaccine though, just make sure that you eat and drink some water before you get the next one

when i got my first vaccine i felt nauseous right after and my blood pressure spiked and it was because of my anxiety, and i rarely ever experience it. it is probably linked to anxiety.

it's probably due to anxiety, like your doctor said. i get faint when I get my blood drawn, but it's just the anxiety about the needle that makes me feel faint

I was fine. However that’s why most places make you stay 15 minutes in case you do pass out

I think it honestly might have been anxiety related. I did feel really anxious and nervous before getting it, but I felt better after it was done. But I did feel like my heart was beating really fast, and like I was spaced out, so it was definitely my anxiety talking. Luckily I didn’t pass out though.

They are supposed to make you stay for up to 30 minutes after just in case you have a reaction to it or need immediate medical attention. But I think you’ll be fine

When I got my first dose of the vaccine my arm was super sore the next day but I had absolutely no symptoms when I got my second dose but my sister did get a like sick for like a day after her second dose but was completely fine later on that week.
