Hi! I am really depressed because everyone I know is on an all star or club team for a sport. I tried for a softball all star team but didn’t make it. There’s 5 teams in the league and 2 all star teams! I could even make the lower team. It annoys me so much because I try so hard and I know someone who is playing their first season, is naturally good, and made the all star team. Everyone I know is on a club or all star team. I can’t even hang out with my friends sometimes because they have a practice, game or tournament. A lot of people in my class are even missing school for games and tournaments! My baking partner for the baking show I’m going to be on can’t bake this weekend because he made his baseball all star team. So.....I guess I’m asking for advice? |

...maybe try finding a different interest. do something else that you could meet other people. maybe a softball place that doesn’t have tryouts and u can meet ppl there and play softball

Keep practicing, I know it sucks when you can’t do what you want, but if you keep trying then you’ll get better (I know this from experience, I was a terrible cross country runner, but I kept working, and by the time track season rolled around I was one of the best distance runners on the team.)

UGH. I made the team on my first try. When that happened, I realized that there are other things out there for me besides competitive gymnastics. I’m going into high school this upcoming school year, and I’m planning on trying out for volleyball. I’m enrolled in dance classes at school, too, and I’m planning on doing sports every season. So just keep an open mind and try new things! I know it’s hard to let go of a sport that you love, but sometimes it’s worth it in the end if it means you get to still compete and try new things!
