Hello there y'all! I just saw this forum post and was like eyy! So uh yeah, I play softball, been playing for a long time. My main position is pitcher but I can also do a bit of outfield. Haven't actually done any playing in like a year though because of the pandemic, my school's been all online after all. But things are slowly getting better so I hope I'll get to play with my team again soon!And @audreyb37 , on top of what everyone else already said, I just wanted to say your value isn't just determined by your coach and what they choose to do with you. I started pitching soon after I started playing softball, and I'd been taking lessons and practicing for years, yet none of the coaches for any of the teams I would be on ever gave me a chance. Even though my pitching coach would tell me I was great, the fact that I was never put in games for years, no matter what team I was on, made me think I must've been terrible. But then eventually, I finally got to a team with a coach that gave me a chance and all of a sudden I was the main pitcher. I guess it was just one of those situations where you have to keep pushing on even when people are holding you down, because eventually you'll find people who recognize your worth. Sorry if that was kinda long or outta-nowhere, I know I'm just some random person on the internet. I had a really hard time becoming a pitcher, I know how it can feel, so if it's any help I wanted to try and give a bit of moral support. 💛 |
