When I was in middle school my favorite Justin Bieber song was Love Me. I didn’t find out until I was in high school that the chorus samples Lovefool by the Cardigans, which is a happy pop song about the singer being in a codependent relationship, wanting her partner to say he loves her and not wanting him to leave even though it’s all a lie. That kinda makes Love Me sound really dark even though on the surface it’s a straight up love song.

Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. When I was younger (like a tween) it was always on the radio and I never really thought about the lyrics. BUT NOW......... I'm obsessed with MCR and the song is about a patient dying of cancer and remembering his fondest memories of watching a parade in the city with his father. Very sad 😥 but its a great song. Also basically the entire album The Black Parade is basically surrounding the patient and his death "journey" (for lack of a better word I guess)
