here's some advice for those of you who are getting yours soon:Get the shot on the side you don't sleep on. Cause it's kinda sore after and hurts when you touch it and it would be hard to sleep on it. So like I sleep on my right side so i got the shot on my left shoulder. Unless you sleep on your back then you're good to go 😂 👍 |

Why get the vaccine just to have the these horrible symptoms that make you get use to the virus, My teachers had to be out a week because of the vaccine

@aries_girl There are different kinds of vaccines. My parents got the Moderna vaccine and barely had any bad symptoms. They had headaches and soreness and were fine the next day. There is a different kind that my grandparents got and they had very bad symptoms though. The one for 12-17 is supposed to be even less bad than all the others according to my parents. It also depends on the person getting it.

@aries_girl why do people work out, even though it hurts their body and makes them sore? because it makes them stronger, where they can handle what they're dealing with. by lifting weights or exercising, you work on the muscles to make them get use to the weights/whatever you're doing so that your body will perform better. your body gets sore and you have to take extra care of yourself by eating certain ways but it's just to improve the way your body functions, so the vaccine really IS worth it because look at how many people died because of it, i know there aren't many deaths now but would you rather cling to life in a hospital puking your guts out needing an IV because of how sick you are, or get a little headache and nausea so that your body can help prevent it from happening again

@aries_girl The side effects are actually your immune response! It means that your immune system is heathy! Sore arms are due to cells rushing to fight against the MRA (that cannot actually make you sick). Being tired and sore is because your body is trying really hard to fight this new antigen (a toxin or other foreign substance which induces an immune response in the body, especially the production of antibodies). Tiredness, soreness, muscle pains, and headaches are all because of your immune system!Your immune system is also the cause of seasonal allergies. Coughing and sneezing tries to get whatever you are allergic to out of your system. A stuffy/runny nose is your body creating more mucus to try to prevent the allergy causing thing from entering your body. So basically, its your immune system's fault for side effects :/ |

Got my second dose of Pfizer recently, I know some people say that they get pretty tired after dose 2, but obviously that's just your body's natural immune response and I actually felt almost no side effects besides normal pain where I actually got the shot. I'm really looking forward to feeling less anxious about getting sick or unknowingly getting other people sick!

@Scavenged That is true... but world wide, 3.3 million lives have been taken to the virus. It’s super sad because these people didn’t need to loose their lives. But reported survivors are 163 million people. And I’m guessing it’s under counted because I had some family who got it and LUKILY managed to survive. I’m not saying those 3+ million lives don’t matter or anything, but I want to make sure that the vaccine actually does something, I’ll be waiting because more testing needs to be done

@GenMalucci I understand your concern, but all the vaccines that are approved have been proven to be effective. "Based on evidence from clinical trials, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was 95% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people without evidence of previous infection." - CDC "Based on evidence from clinical trials, the Moderna vaccine was 94.1% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people who received two doses who had no evidence of being previously infected." -CDC "The J&J/Janssen vaccine was 66.3% effective in clinical trials (efficacy) at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people who had no evidence of prior infection 2 weeks after receiving the vaccine. People had the most protection 2 weeks after getting vaccinated." - CDC The CDC has some good information on how these vaccines work and the side effects "Historically, if side effects are going to happen, they generally happen within six weeks of receiving a vaccine dose. For this reason, the Food and Drug Administration required each of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines to be studied for at eight weeks after the final dose." -Beaumont The vaccines have been studied for over 6 months now. No long term side effects are showing. COVID-19 causes even asymptomatic people to have post-covid symptoms, which can cause chronic shortness of breath and other lung problems, even in healthy kids. There are also many stories of people refusing to get the COVID vaccine then getting COVID and getting very sick, and even dying. If you can, please get the vaccine. It will really help to get everything back to normal. Herd immunity will hopefully happen, so the virus cannot spread (there are studies showing that vaccinated people cannot give covid to someone else), and then we can open back up again and stop wearing masks. |

@Ciao I get the concern but where I live it’s already opening up and mask mandates are dropping. My point is that a lot of vaccines have been used for years, and are still getting tested. The Covid vaccine has been mildly tested and I was full assurance that I’m not being inserted with something that could cause more harm than necessary. I don’t feel safe with getting it. I used to have vaccines, all the time, and I got sick more than ever. Then we stopped getting vaccines and shots and I have gone years without getting sick, at all. Naturally fighting something off is much better for some people.

@GenMalucci The vaccine wasn't actually rushed. It just had priority, which causes multiple phases and trials to be able to be done at once. And it was being manufactured while being tested, so it could be distributed once it was approved. And if you got sick due to vaccines, is that getting sick for a couple days after the vaccine? Or like a couple weeks after the vaccine? Or just being sick all the time? |

Also right now lifting mask mandates and opening up are not good (in my opinion). Many people are still not vaccinated, and there are still a lot of cases and deaths. Opening up could cause another wave.

@GenMalucci that's perfectly okay! You don't have to get the vaccine right away, it can be scary to put something like that in your body so i understand 🙂 just as long as you wear your mask and help prevent the spread of the virus then i'm cool with others not getting it

@Ciao I’m not the governor in my state. So I can’t change the mandates. It’s not tested well enough for me to put my trust in it. And chances are, I could get the virus afterward.
