Hello wonderful human!! Thanks for stopping by!

So whenever my mom posts a picture of one of my bracelets on face book people say can she make that for me. I end up making the bracelets for them but I end up getting really stressed over making them. Like ik the bracelets take time but I constantly think about things like "oh my gosh can it go any slower" or "what if it comes out bad and I need to start over".

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this, or am I the only one? lol anyway hope yall have a great day/night/morning ❤️

kinda the same. but like not me. my friend makes them and she complains about when people ask her to make them and stuff. and like honestly, i just tell her not to make them unless she feels happy to make one for them. like i find this therapeutic and she does as well, but when like you have to do it and stuff it sucks the fun out of it, so i just told my friend not make them for people anymore cuz like they don’t really appreciate the amount of work spent on it. cuz yeah you can rebuy the string, but you can’t get back the time making it. so i recommend making them for like birthdays and stuff, so people can appreciate getting one because that special occasion won’t come very often. if you’re just making them for free, then like that’s better than buying it from a regular store cuz yk it’s free, but it’s also done by one person and every knot is done with your hands so yeah. bottom line, make them for people when you know they’ll appreciate it, even if they don’t understand the work that got put into it

Same!!! My mom posted mine on ig and now I have to make like ten bracelets for people. At least they offered to pay😅 I’d suggest you let your mom know how you feel about that before it happens again and maybe suggest she put something in the caption saying that you’re not taking requests rn? Idk. I’m always worried about sounding rude when stuff like that happens

@IzzyG21, perhaps have your mom include a clause/caveat like “Commissions/requests may be considered on a case by case basis, as making these bracelets is meant to be a relaxing hobby (and don’t we all want to have more pretty bracelets to look at? 😉).”

@soka_snips, you can consider asking your mom to include a similar caveat

I have the opposite problem. I want my mom to post pics so I could sell. (I don't have time for an etsy/costs too much)

Just say no. Handmade stuff takes time and if you don’t feel happy or welcome to do it, and it’s causing stress just say no. People ask me and if I’m not getting paid (yes, it’s selfish but I give a lot of them away for free so....) I don’t do it. I’m bringing a bunch to camp to hand out, and honestly, people will understand if you just say “no, I’m not really selling them yet” or whatever

I am about to start selling my jewelry, but I think I am just going to make them and they can decide from what is already made so that I don’t get stressed from it, cause when I get stressed... well... Let’s just say I’m not the easiest person to deal with 😜

I know how u feel, what I did was just stop and realized I don’t have any bracelets. That bright me back to reality when I figured out I haven’t made anything for myself. Soo I really only make them on special occasions
