I have a lot but by far it’s thsi little light up mickey mouse watch. My friend found it in the hallway of school but had constantly lost it so eventually i claimed it as mine. The friend who would lose it had attempted suicide late 2020. That watch was the one thing there that could comfort me because of the memories from him. I’m so happy to say that he’s still here to this day but just recently that watch has been a really big thing to calm me down. 2. a snow globe i got for a dollar. I got this snow globe with a friend and we each got one. I know that it’s a comfort item for them as well so it really means a lot to me. That was one of the last times me and my friends got to hang out until they stopped talking to each other and i lost a friend group. 3. A lot of Kandi bracelets i made. I made them while a family member was yelling in the other room (which really stresses me out) and i was watching my comfort streamer. I have only taken the three bracelets off when I shower and at dance practice. etc. there are so many more including yarn, a crochet hook, a doll, multiple stuffed animals, and multiple blankets but these things by far have the most to them that mean so much to me

my lil peep hoodie. i ordered it in october when my mental health was starting to spiral. i started listening to lil peep a few months before and his music provided a lot of comfort to me. anytime i wear it i feel comfortable, and when it's fresh out of the dryer it feels like a warm hug. idk how to explain it, it just makes me feel warm inside.

I still have the first blanket i ever got 🙂 it came with my crib and i've had it ever since, and i also (dont bully me over this) use to suck on my fingers up until last summer (covid). but those are my old comfort objects that ive had since ive been alive, but i recently got a weighted plush stuffed dragon and i sleep with him every night and he really helps 🙂 For those of you who are wanting to know WHY i did that for so long, here you go: TW MENTIONS OF TRAUMA when i was a baby I sucked on my fingers, haha very funny, we got me off of it by the time i was 6 months but I was in a VERY unstable household and my mind reverted back to the comfort and when i was 2 i continued the habit. it was related to the trauma i had experienced while growing up, being exposed to it before i was mentally ready screwed me up. I got put on braces about 2 years ago because due to my habit my mouth deformed to fit my fingers (middle and ring on my left hand) and i ended up with over an inch of spacing between my bottom row and top row of teeth (top row went out, bottom went inward). i had spikes on the back of my teeth but i kept doing it. i would hide my hand in my sleeve at school (everyone thought i was puffing 😤🙄) and we had tried everything to get me to stop, gumky nail polish, gloves, even Flick therapy so i would associate it with something bad but i still did it!! My old ortho refused to give me my bands (the things you hook onto the brackets to move your jaw) but then she had a baby and i got put under someone else who put me on them immediately, and since i was on the hardest strength possible i could barely open my mouth, so when i went to bed I COULDN't suck even if i wanted to! so I broke the habit and im almost a year broke which im really proud of 🙂 i couldnt go to sleep overs or anything because of my anxiety, i was so afraid they would see me do it |
