i respect all religions, but as a former christian, now non-religious person, i notice many flaws and inconsistencies with christianity. btw, i don’t mean to offend any christians, this is just my impression!i feel like growing up, and even now, i would’ve felt closer to christianity and more comfortable with christians if the christians that i’ve seen, and many christians opinions weren’t so harmful. i think that there are a lot of christians with what i see as good morals, but for example; homophobia, or slander towards lgbtq in general. a lot with pro life, as i feel like everybody should do what THEY want with THEIR OWN body. i also don’t like what has been portrayed as i see constant harassment from christians towards those who have ‘sinned’. again, not all christians are like this, but out of my impressions, it’s hard to consider myself as one because of all i disagree with. |

@crafter83 okay!! feel free to!! if they have anything to say about it i have more on that topic 🙂 i grew up as a christian and when i started noticing inconsistencies in the religion i got very mad and now ive done intensive research on the religion. almost anything someone says that supportss the religion is falsely written/falsely interpreted to fit the needs of others selfish desires and thoughts

to everyone here who have said religions can be manipulative/forcing things, i agree. i think religions are wonderful, but sometimes it goes a little too far. live how you want to, but dont affect other peoples life with it

@crafter83 another thing too!! the reason why this is called homosexuality and you ONLY SE IT IN MEN IN THE BOOK is because a daughter could be sold off the moment she was born. women were objects, things that men could own. men THEMSELVES were considered their own people from the beginning. if you forced a boy (which is why it said young men/boys, not children) that was taking away his rights as a human and was a sin because you took away the rights of another. but since we changed the meaning of homosexuality like with a lot of other words it brings the text out of context

@naiyah ah, so now you're gonna play the pity factor. I don't agree with your religion, i show you factual evidence as to why you're wrong, and then you get defensive and shut down and bring up stuff that isnt related to what we're talking about. that show's immaturity, and PROVES my point that christianity sucks I chose to go to church as a kid. When i was 7, my grandma offered to drive me. she said it would be nice!! and i made lots of friends there and dated someone from there for awhile. I CHOSE to go because i wanted to learn more and wanted to be close to god because i had heard all these amazing things about him. i went to church from age 7-16 ON MY OWN with no one forcing me to go. do you know how much psychological harm that caused? I had to go through tf-cbt to deal with my PTSD, and christianity was a BIG entry in my trauma narrative. i went through so much bs, I even helped 4 years in a row with VBS to help support my church. I WANTED to be close to god, and i realized that the people of the church didnt. they used god for their own selfish needs, claimed that he was against things he never said. I just did some reading 🙂 i read the original text and even read through a couple talk downs about it and it all said the same thing. Christians force their own ideas onto others. look at how many people have come onto this forum that said the SAME THING!!! i know you hope thats not the truth but it is. God murdered his own people all the time??? there are so many times in the bible that he said "whoops, y'all are too corrupt time to kill you" so is god a hypocrite? Christians are trying to wipe out other religions too??? forcing their own onto each other, not giving them places to practice their religion, it happens everywhere and you cant deny that it happens. Christianity is the most popular opinion because so many people forced the religion onto others. im not saying that YOU in particular go up to people and say that, but there are so many others out there that do. also, did you even read what i said before? the very text that i have you said that you cant judge others, or else you will be judged the same way before the eyes of god. soooooo youre saying youre going to hell. is that very christian of you? what about that loophole? does it not apply to you because you're "not like the others"? its thinking like that that ruins the reputation of christianity. "im not like others so this doesnt apply to me" YES IT DOES ITS THE SAME RELIGION |

@Deer-Teeth while you may be right that Christianity has become corrupt in some places that really isn’t true of all of us and you are actually the one getting defensive! I just was curious what people thought so please don’t be rude. You are also saying that Christians push religion on others and that may be true but may I remind you that you just came into this chat trying to discourage others from agreeing with Christianity? Please don’t be upset about this I’m not trying to accuse you of anything I’m just saying that this was simply to hear what people thought, not to start a fight. If you don’t agree with Christianity, fine, that’s is totally your choice! Just don’t try to make believers feel dumb or uneducated about what they believe.

@Deer-Teeth it also sounds like you had a pretty terrible church experience and that stinks! I just don’t think you make such huge assumptions about religious groups and people. I really hope I didn’t offend you with the last thing I said 😂it might have come off kinda abrasive...I get that this is a pretty hot topic for some people and I hope I didn’t ruin your day or anything 😜

@swim_girl I will admit 100% that i am getting defensive. I'm getting defensive because christianity is using the title to get away with things that they shouldnt. they're spreading lies (as i have tried to prove) to support their own beliefs, not what god believes. christianity has been tainted, no matter where you go its wrong, they preach false verses and spread ideas into the heads of others that can harm them or others. I didn't mean to get rude and i apologize to every single one of you. i shouldn't have gotten sharp with my responses, and i should have kept my tone down in the way i typed. im not trying to say that its bad to agree with any of christianity's beliefs. your beliefs are your beliefs, and its not my place to say whether or not you're wrong just by belief. i AM proving certain things wrong with factual evidence because people shouldn't be falsely educated. Im not upset with you at all, thank you for @ing me and pointing out my temper. you had every right to do so. the thing is tho that the majority of people arent educated on what they're following. thats like saying "oh this preacher says that this is right so i shouldn't think anything of it and follow blindly", thats why so many others are miseducated on these things and why theres hate spread by christians in things they shouldnt be involved in like LGBT+ rights. people need to be educated, it causes more harm when you're not. if you can give me evidence as to why im wrong and i have nothing to say back then i am fully willing to admit our differences or even admit im wrong. I've had many debates and i love hearing the other side. im very open about things despite what it may seem like here (as you may see on other patterns where i have debated) i change my opinion a lot!! if im provided with good evidence (like ive been doing as well as @crafter83) and i have nothing to say in return that means im wrong and you can educate me on that I've been to multiple churches my entire life. Ive moved 12 times in my lifetime, and have joined 14 different churches (two ended up being very bad to the point where i couldnt stay at all) I went to different types of churches as well. there's a pattern with the people. i know that not all christians are like that, but like i said previously look at how many people came on here and said that christians force their opinion onto others. LGBT+ people have had to fight for their lives in america because of christian hate. do you know how many people have been beaten to death because of MISEDUCATION? its horrible, and for what? because they "needed to be converted"? theres still conversion camps to this day. the majority of youth homeless population are LGBT+ in some way because christians took the word of the lord out of context and made it seem like it was horrible, when in all reality thats not even what god was talking about. christians are breaking one of the 10 commandments by doing that, saying the lords name in vain" to me, thats cruel and inhuman, and if any child of god really believed and loved/feared god they wouldn't have that kind of hate in their hearts. they would spread the true word of god, not what they want to nit pick at. |

@Deer-Teeth I thought when @swim_girl created this Forum, it was going to be interesting. But so far it isn't so great. U haven't even said what YOU believe in. u keep criticizing ME. Do you have a problem with any other religions you would like to tell me about? 🙂 I always chat and laugh with EVERYONE. I don't lower them. What do think of Christians? When someone comes up to u and says they love God, do you criticize them as well? |

@naiyah im criticizing you for being miseducated and im trying to show you where my evidence is coming into play. no other religion has done the harm that christianity has this forum was to state what your opinion was on christianity, and thats exactly what im doing. if someone comes up to me and says they love god, great! wonderful! this forum was a debate waiting to happen, if you ask for someones opinion you're gonna get it. if you came up to me and said you were christian i wouldnt think anything of it and move on. but you came to me and said that there was a text that said homosexuality was a sin, and i provided my evidence as to why i thought you were wrong |

Hi!For all of you non Christians out there, honestly all Christianity is about is loving God and loving people. That should be the main focus of Christianity. The new testament is all about NOT being like the Pharisees. Im so sorry if your view of Christianity has been skewed, all its about is living for God. Living like Jesus would! Which is loving others in all situations no matter how the look, if they sin, etc. And part of that IS keeping the Bible's commandments whether you like them or not. We have human nature so we aren't going to be perfect, but the true Christian will try to keep God's commandments. And the reason I know God is real is because He has healed me. Can you explain getting rushed to the hospital then being prayed for in JESUS' name and being healed? No but it happened to me. Can you explain being in church where someone is sobbing over infertility issues then comes back the next month PREGNANT after getting prayed for (in JESUS' name)? Can you explain people who suffer from depression feeling true peace and comfort after years of struggle? No, you just can't. Its supernatural And what annoys me most is the people who call themselves Christians but don't act like it. They give Christianity a bad name. I hope you find some perspective in that! ❤️ |

And @Deer-Teeth stated "No other religion has done the harm that Christianity has"may i ask you what you are talking about, specifically? because anyone who is an ACTUAL Christian, in truth and in spirit, spreads Jesus' love and light. |
