I would recommend not taking all honors classes. Going into middle school, you aren’t going to be prepared for the work load and it’s going to take some time to create a new study method/schedule for these advanced classes. I did competitive dancing while I was in middle school and I didn’t have trouble keeping up with the workload. Also, it’s normal to loose friends as well as make some new ones. Is there anything else you are scared of that I can help you with 🙂?

So, I’m on 7th grade, but I’m a year younger than everyone else. Definitely over estimate how long it takes you to do assignments. Start it early. Especially if you do lots of extra curricular activities. I swim a lot and sometimes I get worried that I can’t do it in time and then I have to choose which one to do. On that note, ALWAYS CHOOSE SCHOOL. One missed practice for a sport isn’t going to hurt you, but one bad test will. Try to start studying for the test earlier than the night before. Look over notes, and write things down by hand when you study. I like to rewrite my notes because it helps you remember. Don’t worry too much about middle school. It is a step up, but not that

Sorry I sent that too early. Ok it is a step up, but not that much. They don’t just throw you into it. Just study and give yourself time, and you can adjust.

First of all, people will tell you not to take honors classes your first year, but 90% of my classes were honors level and my grades turned out just fine. I even had extracurricular activities so.... My biggest tip would be to not procrastinate on your work. If you have spare time in school, like at lunch or study hall, use it to start on some assignments. I think taking some honors classes is good as it keeps you on your feet and prepares you for high school and even college. Just think about how many you can handle. I’m in 8th grade and the biggest thing I’ve learned is to choose your friends wisely and know that no matter what, school comes first. It will be tempting to go to parties and hang out with friends but remember to get your schoolwork done. And most importantly, have fun! Don’t overthink it and just enjoy yourself. Middle school goes by way quicker than you could ever imagine, so take in every moment of it.

Hey, I’m in 7th grade, I would say just don’t procrastinate. I know this sounds simple but hear me out. I was offered to take a very high level math class next year but I might not make the cut now because I’m better at procrastinating than I am giving advice lol. It’s worth it if you do your work and, since you said you are taking all honors classes, it would be vital for you. Hope this helps!

I am in 8th grade going into highschool next year. I am kinda nervous just like you are. I am also a dancer lol. But here are a few tips:1. Stick with a group of friends. 2. Stay out of drama 3. Do NOT procrastinate. Trust me the sooner you get it done the better. 4. If you are in person, on the first day have you schedule with you all the time. And locate your classes as soon as you can. After a few days you should have it down packed. 5. If you are using lockers, get stuff for atleast 2 classes. You don't have to go to your locker after every single class. 6. If you get your period in school and don't have anything, ask a friend or a teacher for stuff. If you go to the bathroom and see you have blood in you underwear, put some toilet paper at the bottom of them and then ask for stuff. I am sure they will understand. Don't be nervous or embarrassed. It is a natural thing. 7. Just know middle school goes by really quickly. I look back sometimes and think about how it feels like yesterday I was in your position. 8. People are going to change. If your friend start to change, just let it happen. Don't complain about it because you will most likely change to. 9. Always pack the night before. Never think you will be able to wake up and just think you have everything. And finally 10. Don't worry about middle school. I remember being really nervous and saw there was nothing to be nervous about. |

I am almost done with 6th grade (well, in a few months I will be) and I haven’t gone in school yet, I do google meets. Do NOT procrastinate on your homework. It really doesn’t help at all and you will just be a lot more stressed. I get distracted on my phone easily so if you need to have something taken away from you to get it done, ask your parents or siblings. This helps a little bit if you really don’t want to finish your homework. have a “reward” for yourself if you finish your homework, for example, you can go on your phone for 10 minutes if you finish 2 assignments, or, you can make a mug cake if you finish all of your homework. Don’t compare yourself to others. There’s some people who are way stronger than others at certain subjects but there’s probably something that you are better at than them cuz everyone has something that they’re good at and everyone has something that they aren’t so good at. I’m rly good at math but a lot of the people in my class struggle with it but I’m not that good at writing stories. Don’t let bullies get to you. This is a really big one because bullying really affects your life. It doesn’t affect only your mental health, it affects your physical health, how well you do in school, and a lot more. Bullies don’t have anything to do with their lives other than making other people feel insecure and have depression, suicidal thoughts, or other issues. They just do it because they are insecure but it doesn’t give them the right to make others feel the same. If they keep bothering you then you need to tell someone and maybe take a break from school. Or punch them in the face to make them scared of you 😂 (jk... or am I? 😂 tbh I’d probably do that lol but you’ll probably get in trouble even if they were the ones bullying you)

some friendships will drift away and that is okay. Don't try to force a relationship.
