I want to read lord of the rings, can someone give me a grade based reading level and a non spoiler summery? {for context I am obsessed with harry potter and recently learned that the two books are similar}

Hey, I read lord of the rings and it is a very long (but good) book series. The beginning is pretty boring, so you might want to quit and stop reading, but keep going I promise you that it is interesting(at least to me it was). Basically, these books are about a hobbit named Frodo who goes on a super long journey to destroy a ring that was created by a super-evil being. There are lots of interesting characters in the book and the journey that Frodo goes on has lots of dangers that has to overcome. Also, the books were made into movies that are really good so I would recommend watching those.

Umm... idk what grade level would be best but I read it the summer after seventh grade, so probably middle school at the earliest. The ring is kind of like a horcrux... but more powerful because anyone who wears it will eventually succumb to its power and will not be able to part with it easily.
