Cross Stitch Problem

I know this website is not made for cross stitch but, I know a couple people on here know how. I'm working on a pattern where I just cut enough fabric for it. As I'm getting into it more, I've found I wont have enough. Is there a way I can add more? I was thinking I could just hold the fabric near it, and stitch onto it , or maybe even sew it. Please help, anything works.
