Sorry if you’ve already heard of some of these!

MURDER MYSTERY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- All Your Twisted Secrets (by Diana Urban)
- They Wish They Were Us (by Jessica Gooman)
- Truly Devious (by Maureen Johnson) (for of a mystery rather than a murder mystery)
- The Good Girls (by Claire Eliza Bartlett)
- The Initial Insult (by Mindy McGinnis)(I haven’t read this book yet but it seems really interesting)
WW2
~~~~
- The Fountains of Silence (by Ruta Sepetys)
- The Girl in the Blue Coat (by Monica Hesse)
- They Went Left (by Monica Hesse)
- Lovely War (by Julie Berry) (my favorite book of all time- starts slow but gets amazing!)
- The Last Train to London (by Meg Waite Clayton) (technically adult but it is great for YA readers!)

super into murder, thriller, and just generally darker books, if you need something to go off of i really like 'theres someone inside your house' by stephanie perkins and the haunted duology which was sooo good if anyone needs something to read. I will say that the haunted duology is really dark and may be scary to younger audiences.

I like books with powerful themes at the end (not really a genre 😅) It could be middle grade or YA.
I also like YA action/dystopian books like the Divergent trilogy or the Legend trilogy.
