Friend Moving Away?

So my best friend is moving away, and I have never dealt with anything like this. He moves in 2 ish weeks and I just don't know what to say/do before he moves or how to keep in touch after he moves 5 hours away. Any tips? Thanks.

Maybe flan regular zoom or FaceTime. So you talk once a week for a hour, this is what I do with one of my friends who lives pretty far away from me.

i’m so sorry about that. over the course of 5 years 3 of my best friends moved away and it was really hard to deal with. but id just say whenever you can, text/call/ft him as much as possible because i didn’t do that and i lost touch with my friends 😢

Hey! So, this is coming from someone who is about to be that friend who is moving away, but I’m moving across the country, when I move I notice that I get iced out, people stop talking to me, and it hurts sometimes, so KEEP IN TOUCH, if they have an email or phone number than keep in touch with them all the time. It means a lot to someone when you can support them cause moving is stressful and hard, so be an awesome friend and it’ll be good!

hola!! i move every 3 years or so, and the longest friendship ive ever had is 5 years long (and still going) i recommend texting each other when you can, my friend and i have a lot in common so its not difficult for us to send each other a meme or smth and have a conversation about it. we also ft every week or two and our friendship is pretty much surrounded by on the fact that we both laugh at everything and always enjoy talking to each other, so thats an extra bonus. good luck with your friend!!

my best friend lily and i are long distance (720 something miles away and a border). we have helped stay close by doing a few things. one is calling. make sure you set boundaries though. we call almost daily but as a rule we cannot call past 10:30 my time on school nights and midnight on weekends. we also try and find new ways to have fun over the fun. we did a 16 personalities test to find out more about ourselves and how to adjust our friendship dynamic. sometimes we sit and make tiktoks. or we zoom call and do a movie night. sometimes we just talk. or maybe we hang out with my family while on call. or we screen share baby photos and videos of ourselves. find ways to keep it fun. we also really enjoy sending each other small gifts. even just a letter in the mail makes us so happy. as bracelet makers too she sent me dowels for wall hangings and i sent her some beads once. we also celebrate holidays with gifts and phone calls. for christmas i got her a frog lovey so she could hug it and be reminded of me. she got us matching star necklaces for christmas. for valentine’s day i made her a bracelet, did a cross stitches and handmade cards. she sent me a painting. these are just two ways but they really help us. figure out your friendship dynamic and find ways to adjust to long distance. remember to keep the friendship healthy and stay safe <3

My best friend moved away once. 😔 she was only here for one year but like I never saw or contacted her again unfortunately. But my tip is to meet/call daily hope this helps
